Girls Gone Wild gets into gaming

Conspiracy Entertainment's PSP Pocket Pool will carry the license of controversial video series.

Pocket Pool, the upcoming PlayStation Portable billiards game in which players can play against comely models to unlock video clips and image galleries already had a suggestive name. But just in case anyone didn't understand what the game was offering, publisher Conspiracy Entertainment confirmed for GameSpot today that it has tagged Girls Gone Wild on the license of the nudity-laden video series.

It's unclear how deeply the Girls Gone Wild license will be integrated into the gameplay. Conspiracy's official Web page contains box art and screenshots for the game, none of which make reference to the adult video series. While a representative with the publisher confirmed that the game will carry the Girls Gone Wild license, he couldn't comment on whether the publisher had plans for other games carrying the brand.

Set for release in April, Girls Gone Wild Pocket Pool features more than a dozen styles of pool from 9-ball to Snooker. The game has been rated M for Mature, with content descriptors for partial nudity and sexual themes.

I'm not sure someone would buy a game based on the fact that it has partial nudity. But I do know that people that really like Pool will probably not buy this game because it has some. For the rest of us there's the internet.

I never would have guessed that so many people would be offended by some boobs with their pocket pool.

The small thumbnail of the box art looks like Summer Altice (*LURVE*). Once I expanded it, I was disappointed though.

I hope the game play is tight so we can justify a purchase.

I wonder if this will be a new trend among game companies? I hope not! I don't want to see naked video game characters trashing grat games! Sony shouldn't allow this. They need an official seal system like Nintendo, and if they already have one, it shouldn't have gone on this game. Sony is way better than this to allow these games on their systems, even though they're not the ones who made this game! Then again, "to each, his own", if you don't like the game, then don't buy it!

I mean the movies were SOOO good right? So why not make games with that as the focus?! I smell instant classic...move over Zelda/Mario/Halo GGW is in town...You know the best part about the commercials? As soon as the cheesy calypso music starts I know to change the channel..so at least they give us warning.

Typical of Sony?! Wow. People are sheep. Sony didn't want porn on UMD or Blu-Ray (a reason for failure, some people say). But now this is typical, right? Dumba$$.

Anyway, Sex and video games don't mix. At least for me, anyway.

If I want to play pool, I go play pool. And if I want to see naked girls, I go look at naked girls. But I don't really care so much about either that I wanted them brought together in a game. I mean, it's not exactly like discovering that peanut butter and chocolate taste great together.

This is so typical of Sony.

I used to read the offical aussie ps2 mag, and the thing I remember the most besides the obviously biased review scores was the extreme use of sexual inuendo's.

Having to resort to such cheap marketing tactics 2 months before your launch date makes me wonder about the actual quality of this game. I can see it now: "Well team, the gameplay kind of sucks so lets add in a few half naked chicks and hopefully that will boost our sales."

  • Eararaldor

    Posted Feb 6, 2007 5:15 am PT

I'm not sure what the fuss is about here. If it does have nudity in it the game will be rated accordingly. If children do get it then its the PARENTS fault. This is like trying to blame the DVD player company, if the child has managed to get hold of a pornographic DVD.

The only thing I see wrong with this is, if someone really wanted to view porn on his PSP, why doesn't he download it to the platform or buy a UMD of it (yes they do exist). Seems like to much hard work to just unlock a video clip of some nudity.

Wow, I can't believe they've stooped this low. I just put my PSP on ebay cause I'm done with all the bs with the PSP. No games and the few they do have, I can beat them in 8 hours. It's pitiful. It's been a complete waste of money from the start. Not one Silent Hill game. Nothing that doesn't replicate the same lame game over and over and over again. I bought the system on faith that Sony could pull through with some really cool games. This game only proves how wrong I was. It's a game like this that really makes me love Microsoft even more.
