Two for PS Store out tomorrow

Blast Factor multiplayer pack will be available for $2.99; Jet Moto for PSPs downloadable for $5.99.

As promised a few weeks ago, Sony is updating its PlayStation Store with a few new offerings. Tomorrow will see one item for the PlayStation 3 and one for the PlayStation Portable.

For the PS3, gamers will be able to turn one of the first downloadable games for the system into a multiplayer experience. The Blast Factor multiplayer pack will be available for $2.99. With the new content, up to four players can take on cooperative and grudge match modes, and the game's speed can be taken up to 150 percent its normal rate.

Classic PlayStation racing action comes to the PSP with Jet Moto. The emulated version of the 1996 racer will be available for $5.99. In the game, players hop on futuristic motorbikes across a variety of backdrops. For more information, read GameSpot's review of the original PS version.

I haven't gotten Blast Factor yet but the demo was really fun and this new multiplayer add on sounds like it's gonna add alot more playtime into the mix. Definantly gonna have to drop the money to buy the game and add-on.

I like blast factor once or twice a week, I'll drop $3.00 on online mutiplayer. They need to get the PS1 games playable on the PS3. I have only downloaded the PS1 Hot Shots Golf 2 and I love it! It loads faster and looks much better on the PSP screen.

blast factor is a waste of money for the average ps3 player, but I've got younger siblings and cousins that love it ,so its worth it so they dont play r:fom but a nicer easier game.

JetMoto was a great game back in the day....in fact, I still have it. maybe i'll dig through my drawer and put it in my ps3, now that i'm done with R:FoM.

ps- anyone here buy BlastFactor?? do you like it? I played the demo but I'd really hate to waste my lunch money on it if it's just a short game. how many levels are there?

Man... i dunno what's up with the last like ... 10 people that commented here.. but i loved jet moto. I could honestly care less what it got from this god-awful excuse for a game site .. even back then. I'll tell you one thing ... play the first game... play the first jungle level ... (where you fall off that waterfall towards the end) and then stop before you finish the lap ... look to the right and find the big island/rock in the middle of the bay ... pull up to it ..... line up.... punch it till your moto is almost vertical and then turbo that biznitch!! .. you will fly into the air .. it's a freakin blast .. i will deff download that **** .. too bad it's not actually on the PSN STORE YET ....

The Blast Factor Demo was a lot of fun and I will probably pick that up.

But where the hell is the US version Of Tekken Dark Resurrection? And Why only being able to play PS1 games on the PSP? Why not make it where I can play the downloaded PS1 games on my PS3?!?!?!?

Jet Moto is a terrible game... It has a 5.8 on Gamespot, and I'm sure that alot of other sites bombed it as well. Why make this a downloadable game when A: It was complete crap and nobody liked it, and B: Since no one liked it, no one is going to download it.... duh.... Will you please just release Final Fantasy VII to download at the Playstation Store... Because your dumbasses f***ed up the backwards compatability on the PS3 so now FFVII (and along with all the other PS1 games) looks like **** If you're gonna release a system update that fixes PS2 game problems then you might as well fix the PS1 games while you're at it... Or did you guys at Sony not notice? Sometimes you make me cry with anger because of your stupidity Sony....

    @ Little Wiz

Not at all,the VC lets you play them on your TV and you don't need to shell out 150$ extra for a PSP just to play them. You are also restricted by a set number of downloads before you have to re purchase.

WTF, I bought Blast Factor (after playing far to many similar offerings on the 360) because they said that they where going to offer a Multiplayer update in the future. I thought this was going to be a FREE update? I hope this isn't a trend, the game already cost to much to begin with ($9.99).

  • GunGriffin

    Posted Jan 31, 2007 5:53 pm PT

Jet Moto was a great game for the PSone when it came out. It was in the same class as the first Wipeout for the PS. I just wish they would make it so people who don't own a PS3 can get these PSone games for the PSP or at least release them in a UMD format with updated graphics for the PSP.

Sony has a pretty good amount of first party games. Anyone who says otherwise doesn't give them a chance. Sony has the typical in-house teams like Sony Santa Monica etc and they have the 2nd party teams who were bought up (Naughty Dog). Microsoft has the same thing. On the surface it may appear like Nintendo has it all in-house and from the groundup. But just because every game is made by "Nintendo" doesn't mean its one team that was born Nintendo.

    Posted Jan 31, 2007 4:23 pm PT

True that Kinglink2, I only bought a ps2 for 1 reason... Final Fantasy, The ps1 versions aswell. Fact is sony dont have any good first party games, they rely almost totally on 3rd party, whereas nintendo is the opposite. Also its a major con, Sony blasted Microsoft about having downloadable HD movies, saying that those with the core pack would need to buy a HDD to take advantage of the movies. And then sony does this, meaning psp owners have to buy a ps3 (which costs a S$%^ load more then a hdd) to take advantage of ps1 games.

  • Gmacrusher

    Posted Jan 31, 2007 4:12 pm PT

Well why couldn't they make it free... i guess they needed money for their making!

  • kinglink2

    Posted Jan 31, 2007 4:02 pm PT

The death of the PSN for the PSP is the fact that they don't have the license for these games. Nintendo gets away with it on VC because nintendo has amazing first party games, but for the playstation.... well let's just say Square was a big reason it sold and I doubt they are going to resell those games for 6 dollars.
