M'soft details XBLA releases

Band of Bugs, Eets: Chowdown, Luxor 2 announced along with seven others as coming to Xbox Live Arcade beginning February.

Though usually content to just give gamers a few days notice, Microsoft threw gamers a curveball and today announced a new wave of games scheduled to hit Xbox Live Arcade beginning in February.

NinjaBee's Band of Bugs.

Included in the list are the previously announced Alien Hominid HD, Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, Paperboy, Root Beer Tapper, Worms, 3D Ultra Minigolf Adventures, and Catan (previously known as Settlers of Catan). However, three new games were also detailed.

NinjaBee, the developers of Cloning Clyde, are working on the fast-paced strategy game Band of Bugs. Gamers will be able to create their own levels with an included level editor and take their creations online to play with over Xbox Live.

Vancouver-based Klei Entertainment is offering up Eets: Chowdown, a 360 version of its popular PC game. The XBLA version will feature the familiar Lemmings-style play, new items, 120 new levels, and a new game-within-the-game, Marsho Madness.

Also headed to Xbox Live is the popular PC puzzler Luxor 2, from developer MumboJumbo.

Microsoft has not issued any release dates or prices for the games, saying only that the 10 games will begin to roll out beginning with "the first release in February" and that "a game may not be launched every week."

    No kenerhai they said one wouldn't release every week there will be 300 arcade title on the 360 by years end though.

    I really want Track and Field, and according to gamespot's preview section for that game - at least three other people are looking forward to it also! Release it already!

    which basically translates to "heres all the games well be realeasing by the end of the year. a game may not be launched every month. so some of these might slip back to 2008."

    Settlers is such a much game. I can't wait to log on, beer in hand, and play with some friends from around the country. Let those tired old (but still smile inducing) sheep-wood jokes commence!

    Cloning Clyde was great, so I'm stoked to hear about Band of Bugs, and I loved the puzzles and art style of Eets, so kudos on that. I am a bit bummed to hear that there may not be a new game every week. I'm kinda tired of weeks with nothing new on Wednesday but downloadable content for an existing game.

    it's a port of the PSP version of Worms. so.. Worms World Part with a ton of weapons removed. that still makes it better than Worms 3d

    I can't wait for the online play.. I predict Worms being 800 points, and Castlvania being 1200, both are prices I'm willing to pay. (SotN retails for over 40$ on ebay)

    mini golf will be worth 400 if they do it right.

    im about to crap my pants. I am a diehard worms fan. All should experience its glory!!!!! I'm not joking. It is easily going to wipe the floor online. I hope people download it so it can be re-vived. Damn you worms 3D. It was a sin against the world. This worms version is the good one.

    Besides Castlevania and Double Dragon, nothing to write home about. Why can't we get more cool downloadable games like the Wii. How about Killer Instinct (arcade version of course). I might have to get a Wii, if I can ever find one.

    minos30 Bla Bla Bla.... I prefer playing the Wii's downloads. The 360's xbla has become quite crappy, actually lame. Nothing good since the first batch. How are these supposed to fit in a 13 gb??? do i have to erase other games i have??? hello??? ***

    wow...people will say anything to get in print...even if it makes NO sense.

    Every game except SoTN has to be less than 50 megs so you can DL every game on xbla and still have enough room. The Wii VC has just as many bad games as xbla. I guess Wii VC soccer, baseball, donkey kong, golden axe and pinball are not quite crappy? hello???

    We need a new dashboard update.

    One that keeps actual ARCADE games in the arcade blade, and Microsoft should add a nothing blade simply entitled "3rd Party Crap".

    Who is buying this stuff when you could just head over to Zone.com or Pogo or Shockwave.com and play a lot of games like this on your PC?
