COD3 maps back on front line
Valor Map Pack for Xbox 360 fixed and battle-ready; new game patch fixes previously broken map pack, two multiplayer issues.
When Activision sent out some new reinforcements for the Xbox 360 version of Call of Duty 3 in the form of the Valor Map Pack, many battle-weary gamers rejoiced. However, the quintet of maps was immediately killed in action, because the content was unplayable.
Publisher Activision and developer Treyarch have announced on the Call of Duty Web site that the Valor Map Pack is now ready for action and can be downloaded from Xbox Live Marketplace. The Valor Map Pack, which includes five multiplayer maps, costs gamers 800 Microsoft points ($10).
The companies have also released a new update for the game, which makes bugged versions of the new content playable. Activision says that those who downloaded the broken version of the Valor Map Pack, but for whatever reason deleted it, are entitled to download the new version for free, but the company did not go into details on how to do that.
The patch also addresses two issues dealing with the game's multiplayer: ranked lobbies and ranked matches.
Call of Duty 3 is rated T for Teen and retails for $59.99. For more information, read GameSpot's review.
