Gas Powered's supreme commander himself, Chris Taylor, talks with Curt Feldman about his hopes for the just-finished game, and hints at more Supreme Commanders in Gas Powered Games' future. Recorded Friday afternoon.

Supreme Commander, the real-time strategy game from Gas Powered Games, is one step closer to release. THQ today announced that the game has gone gold and is on schedule to make its ship date of February 20.

In the game, three warring factions are at odds in the 37th century. Gamers will take control of air, land, and sea units and take on three single-player campaigns and battle other human-controlled armies in online multiplayer modes.

Supreme Commander is rated E10+ for Everyone 10 and Older and will retail for $49.99. For more information, read GameSpot's previous coverage.

"Windows Vista only, and DirectX10 man i really got to upgrade."

That's not true. I was in the beta test and it ran just fine on XP/DX 9.0c

Can't wait for this one. It's one of the rare games for which I'll pay full price.

Supreme Commander will work with DX9 and XP anyone have windows vista now full version???I dont think so...The game is being released soon and it will be a mistake to release a vista only game so early in vista's release...In my opinion..all u need is a dual core PCmore than 2 Ghz or a conroe with at least 1Gig of RAM and with a Geforce 7 series card at least...These dont cost a lot now...(ihave a 7600GS)

Supreme commander will kill cnc3, you obviously have not pld the beta... the scale of SC can only be described as epic... the ideas... the innovation as moved the RTS genre forward for the 1st time in a long time... SC is not afraid to try things new...

CNC3 will be solid, look good.. play predictable.. i have no doubt it will have much enjoyment for all... but when a company does a 3/4 month beta test... with tousands of players... it done for a reason... to make the game as good as it possibly can be... where with cnc3 we will have wait for patch after patch just like we did with zero hour.

I just feel sad knowing that at the Q3 2007 some RTS that is a blend of C&C3 and SC will ship and steal Supreme Commander's award for best RTS of 2007. Just like Company of Heroes from Dark Crusade

Judging from the videos of CNC 3, it didn't impress me that much. It was like 5 units going at it..

I've been playing the beta for Supreme Commander and it's been a ton of fun though. Within the first 5 minutes of the game, you have about 80 units. It's fun stuff, the only thing I think might hurt the game score wise is how much micromanagement / how difficult the game is. Hopefully tutorials will help the difficulty part anyway

eh... ill check this out, but it definitely wont be better than C&C3"

    Bold statement young Jedi.

Personally, I've never been much of a fan of any of the C&C games. Don't ask me why, they just never struck the right nerve with me.

I hope this game is as fabulous as I'm dreaming it is. I've been looking forward to this game for months now.

PC Games are not dead. Such talk is that of a fool. PC Games have never been stronger and XNA allows developers the ability to more easily ports the games thereby allowing developers more freedom and an additional source of revenue.
