Crackdown demo pushed back

Sample of upcoming Xbox 360 game delayed "several days" because of certification process; will be available before end of month.

Cash-conscious next-gen gamers had January 18 marked off on their calendars as the day that the Crackdown demo was set for release. Unfortunately, news out of Microsoft Game Studios today will disappoint those who were looking for a free go at the game.

Crackdown's demo has been pushed back "by several days" because it is going through the final steps of Microsoft's certification process. The trial is still expected to be released this month, but no new date has been announced.

Crackdown is rated M for Mature and will be released February 20. For more information, read GameSpot's previous coverage.

    The only important thing here, ladies, is Halo 3.. Who cares about Crackhead??
    Crackdown or Crackcenter.. all I care about is kicking Goatninja and anyone else's a$$ on Halo 3

    I can't see it in the marketplace or on dash so I reckon we're still to wait on the demo guys.

    uhh, on my 360 dash it says download the demo today! when you click on it there is no option to download it, so i figure it should be anytime today....or they effed up because it was supposed to come out today and still released the noticed anyways...

    I'm not overly upset that the demo has been pushed back. I mean i want to check the demo out but i can wait for it. Hopefully it'll live up to some off the hype thats been created about the game.

    That's fine. I won't buy the game, but I wouldn't mind checking out the demo, no matter when it comes out!

    Well its a little disappointing..but it cant complain too much..life goes on. Lets just hope the game is all its "Cracked" up to be wafflechopterwhupwhupwhupwhup....

    I'm so wary of demos now though. If I'd based my purchases on demos I would never have bought the fantastic Hitman Blood Money or Chromehounds. And if there had been a full Ghost Recon demo I never would have wasted my money on that chugging and clunky mess.

    Should have expected it I guess. Look what happened with the prey demo, only crackdown should actually be a good game.

    If microsoft is always slow with certification then whats the point in giving us a date anyway? Why not just have said like the 25th in the first place. Then at least there is the possibility of getting in on time, if not earlier,which people would like anyway.

    One thing that can be said about Microsoft, they have a strong QA department. Rarely are their games a buggy mess unlike EA, Activision etc.
