Former Take-Two Interactive executive Gary Dale has returned to the company as COO of Rockstar Games after leaving less than three years ago to become European managing director for Capcom.

Dale was president of the interactive software and video division of BMG Entertainment from 1994 to 1998, when the company was taken over by Take-Two Interactive. In his five years at Take-Two he oversaw the release of more than 30 games, including the original Grand Theft Auto.

The move is effective today. Dale commented, "Having been involved in the formation of what later became Rockstar Games, I am now thrilled to become a member of the team at such an exciting time."

Rockstar Games' next high-profile game is Grand Theft Auto IV, which is set for release October 16 on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
