Madden game reveals porn surprise

Utah teen gets hardcore XXX action instead of hardcore gridiron action.

Kolton Mahoney, a 14-year-old boy from Layton, Utah, was delighted to receive a copy of Madden NFL 07 as one of his presents on Christmas Day from his uncle. Football may be a game of X's and O's, but this particular disc was all X's. When Mahoney inserted the disc into his Xbox 360, he found himself watching some hardcore XXX action instead of hardcore gridiron action. His parents, upon seeing the smut, contacted the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, which will be looking into the matter, reported Utah's Standard-Examiner.

The game had allegedly been bought on December 2 at a Circuit City store in Modesto, California, and was factory sealed with the game's logo embossed on the disc. When it was loaded into the console, titles of adult films and an explicit image were presented onscreen. It is unknown how the mix-up occurred, and the task force admits it may be difficult to determine who is responsible.

Maybe that's why the Wii isn't DVD-playback-capable: they're too afraid to get a shipment of EA's "Madden '07 XXXTREME." But could you imagine what the Wiimote control actions would be in that game?

guys, how exactly did the top side of the disc look, cuz apparently, the boy saw the disc and put it in...
if the print on the top of the disc was official while the content wasn't, it had to be somebody close to working there, they could get a printed disc, burn porn on it, and somehow get the wrapping machine to wrap it without messing up the automation... but that would all be just trying too damn hard...

    Take that EA

  • kniceguy

    Posted Jan 5, 2007 2:24 pm PT

There is no way this is true. For one, the production process is not the kind of environment that someone and "slip" a disk into and press like it's a game. Second, who contacts the ICAC about a game they bought at Circuit City? That sounds like a Circuit City or BBB matter. Thirdly, this report comes from some ghetto local news source, not a source that might check out the story fully. We'll have to wait and see what becomes of this.... I hope they know that defamatory comments against EA will not be tolerated. I think it was the uncle in the kitchen with a hair dryer.

If they do find hold someone responsable that will be a nice pay-off for whomever. That's a hell of a lot better than opening a factory sealed game and not finding anything, and then the clerk at the counter telling you that he can't do anything to help.

Awesome! I've been waiting for changes in the Madden series.

But the real question is, how long did he wait to tell his parents about it?

Wow that's......interesting. Well I hope EA is ready for a lawsuit. Hopefully this was an isolated incident and there aren't more problems with the Madden games, otherwise EA will be paying a lot of money.

I saw the picture of the game he's holding... obviously someone repackaged it, the sticker of Security Device Enclosed is NEVER on 360 (or ANY Xbox) game... instead it is a MS lable with their hologram on it. Somone pulled a trick and returned it is what I think.

Some one at the factory slipped this disc into the machine that packages the game. That's pretty obvious. It's still going to be very, very hard to find out who did this. I would have been pissed, after spending $60+ for that game. They should sue EA for a few million. That's teach them.
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
That would be completely stupid. Nobody knows who did it! Let's be rational about this. As if EA would have intentionally done something so stupid and well...funny.

The kid is from Utah. That state is as conservative as it gets in the U.S. Only they would call the task force. Everyone else would go to CC and ask for an exchange.

I love Utah, BTW. Beautiful state.
