Wii POP revealed as Rival Swords
Prince of Persia bounds onto Wii in rehash of 2005's The Two Thrones; game uses Wii Remote and Nunchuk attachment.
Ubisoft has made no secret of its adoration for the Wii. The publisher came out strong for the console's launch, with more than half a dozen games already released for the console.
It was no surprise, then, that Ubisoft revealed it was bringing one of its most popular franchises to the Nintendo's new console. Back in August, the publisher confirmed that a Prince of Persia title was headed to the Wii, but specific details of the game were left in the darkness.
Today, Ubisoft shed light on the game and announced that Prince of Persia Rival Swords is headed to the Wii in March 2007. Gamers may recognize the title as the same as the next Prince of Persia installment on the PlayStation Portable, also due in March 2007. Like the handheld version, the Wii game will be based on 2005's Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones.
In the game, the acrobatic Prince is besieged by a bit of multiple personality disorder, as the Sands of Time have produced the spirit of the Dark Prince, who slowly overtakes him. Nothing has been revealed about the Wii version other than that it will incorporate the Wii Remote and Nunchuk attachment.
