With all the tenacity of a rabid pitbull, Electronic Arts' latest expansion pack for The Sims 2 clung to its spot at the top of the US PC sales charts for the week of November 12-18, based on units sold. Sega's challenger to the throne, Medieval II: Total War, bested the rest of the competition in its first week in stores but had to settle for second place to EA's recently released add-on.

The only other new release of the week to make the top 10 was Sony Online Entertainment's EverQuest II expansion, Echoes of Faydwer, which came in sixth. Outside of the unexpected return of last year's Activision shooter Call of Duty 2 to the charts (it placed eighth), the rest of the pack consisted of the usual suspects.

Blizzard Entertainment's massively multiplayer online role-playing game World of Warcraft came in third, followed by Atari's less massive RPG Neverwinter Nights 2 in fourth and Microsoft's Flight Simulator X Deluxe package in fifth. The remaining three spots were claimed by more EA titles--the futuristic shooter Battlefield 2142 established a beachhead at seventh place, with the ninth and 10th spots claimed by The Sims 2 and its small-scale add-on Happy Holiday Stuff, respectively.
