Viva Piņata fiesta this weekend in LA

[UPDATE] Piņatas, piņatas, and more piņatas invade Santa Monica Pier on Saturday; free festivities include a 35-foot-tall Horstachio piņata.

To help promote the Xbox 360 game Viva Piņata, Microsoft is holding a family-friendly party this Saturday on the Santa Monica Pier in Los Angeles. The free event will take place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and will include giveaways of Xbox 360 consoles, copies of Viva Piņata, and other piņata packages. Other activities include learning special Viva Piņata romance dances, photo opportunities with Hudson Horstachio, Fergy Fudgehog, and Paulie Pretztail, face painting, a free merry-go-round, and a 35-foot-tall Horstachio piņata. For more information, read the details over at Microsoft's Gamerscore blog. [UPDATE] The event will be hosted by Mario Lopez--better known as AC Slater from Saved by the Bell.

I'm glad Rare is making their always original and quality games for Microsoft and not for Nintendo anymore.

Strangely enough this game is the perfect break for when you are tired of chopping up guys on-line with a chainsaw.

Viva Pinata is awesome. I like it a lot more than Gears even. I wonder if these huge pinatas have candy in them...

True dat. Heard the game's amazing though. But it seems like they're pitching it to the wrong market (due to the game's complexity, etc). Pastel-colored graphics do not a kid's game make. Most 360 gamers would do well to remember that.

viva pinatas adveritisement is suprisingly much more kiddy and homosexual than the game itself. The game rocks by the way.

I can go, but I need a kid with me. =P Although the game is not so kiddy, but I think the event will be too kiddy for me.
