EA working on 30 PS3 games

World's largest game publisher leading PlayStation 3 charge with more than two dozen games in the works; "8 to 10" by late March.

When it comes to pumping out game after game, there is no one in the business better than the Bay Area's Electronic Arts. The prolific publisher is home to several top-selling franchises, and its developers are hard at work creating games for the two upcoming next-generation systems--Nintendo's Wii and Sony's PlayStation 3.

Today, the company boasted its progress for its PS3 games, stating that 30 are currently in development. By late March of 2007, the company expects to have 8 to 10 PS3 games in retail, including the recently announced Fight Night Round 3 and Def Jam: Icon. EA also confirmed that Tiger Woods PGA Tour 07, Need for Speed Carbon, and Madden NFL 07 would be launch titles.

EA execs weren't bashful about praising the PS3's hardware. "This is only the beginning," said president of EA Studios Paul Lee. "In the months and years to come, developers will take greater advantage of the PlayStation 3's Cell processors and Blu-ray storage capacity to create games of stunning depth and texture."

Currently, EA has announced the following PS3 games (listed alphabetically):

Curiously, EA left NBA Live 07--thought to be a PS3 launch title--off the list.

    Question: Has anyone here heard of a 360 version of MGS4? Rumors have been released recently that a port of MGS4 is releasing a couple months after the PS3 version.

    Ill say right now that Im a BIG 360 fanboy, but I really hope you PS3 owners dont end up getting 30 PS3 ports like their other games. Lets see something exclusive or something that releases the same time as its 360 version. Oh and purified-7, just because 360 has around double the PS3 games doesnt mean that the PS3 has nothing. It released later and it kinda had a bad (ok awful) launch, so it needs time to get its heavy hitters released. MGS4 will certainly give PS3 some more sales.

    i am not an EA fan by far, and none of these games, bar battlefield and army of two are really shouting out to me tbh.

    However.

    Hopefully the money and the time put in by EA will encourage other developers to get their act together and force themselves to play with the ps3's development tools, if theres on thing EA does do, its showcase hardware.
    If theres one thing thety dont always do, its make substantial games, Once other devs see what EA can do using the hardware, theyll get a bit of motivation, i think/hope

    By the title they made it seem like they're all exclusive to ps3. Silly gamespot, mislead me.. lol... I can't wait for so many of these games and playing on live will be amazing. I'm tellin ya, I won't be leaving my house from nov to feb. Partly because I won't even have enough money for gas to even move my car.

    I happy to hear that they're focusing on the PS3 but are these games designed with the PS3 in mind or are they ported 360 versions? If they're ported then that's not going to help the PS3 in terms of sells and everyone will say "it's better on the 360". So I hope they're making games with the PS3 engine in mind.

    dont forget about fear extraction pt for the ps3 it will prolly be rated over resistance!!

    and how about home service when that hits its all over kids the gaming world will be changed forever i mean the online experience will be totally different than it ever was.

    Darn it! I guess im gonna have to find me a job sooner or later, I want a PS3. All these games look awesome, playing this on my Media Projector would be so freaking cool! I am looking forward to getting me a PS3 and some games, I should probably wait til MGS4 comes out for it; too bad that it probably wont be available for the Xbox 360, if it is that would be nice. Unless the creators are trying to push MGS4's story line, graphic details, and so forth to the limit, then it would be impossible to store as much data that a Blu-Ray can store onto a DVD. But still, speaking about Battlefield: Bad Company, it has a high likely chance of coming out for the Xbox 360 that would be great too.

    You actually think Battlefield: Bad Company will actually come out on March 1st... according to this site it will. But I have heard nothing about it, and there are no videos or updated pictures. It is not listed on any store sites... so I doubt it will come out on March 1st - it says it will come out on that date on Wikipedia as well. It would be awesome if it does.

    360 & PS3 owner.

    Well march will be a big one for ps3, cause i got nothing to play right now, Battlefield will tell a lot for the ps3, it has to overscore the 8.6 posted by fall of a man, and now that i got a ps3 and linux on it!!! i understand why they call that SOny COmputer Entertainment... but i have to say both console have their good side... right now Ms is on fire cause they got a lots of games and a console that is easy to understand for developer, but at the moment that blue ray will be common to developer.... watch out, but by that time... microsoft will have another console on the way... well i love the fact that im writing u on my ps3...its a question of choice... u want to buy a gaming system each 3 years well stay with Microsoft...but if u want a machine that is fully upgradeable and YELLOW DOG LINUX 5.0 COMPATIBLE... u dont have any other choice than the ps3. Both console rock's in their own way

    I'm waiting for that Medal of Honor Airborne, thats pretty much it out of those main titles. Hopefully it'll make its way to 360 at some point but if not it'll make all the more reason to buy a ps3.

    More games means more choice(i just hope their will be more PS3 original games, for instance- Fight Night ROund 3 is also on PS2, so i want more originality like Army of Two [note;originality doesn't include XBOX or whatever] )

    we all know how EA works...
    and EA isn't about makin the best games for the best plataforms...
    if it was like that, yeah, bye bye Xbox360...
    but it isn't
    since M$ fanboys spend money on EA's titles, they're gonna release pretty much all these games listed for all the plataforms...
    Xbox360, Nintendo Wii and Sony PS3...
    Some of them will be PS3 exclusives, but only on the start, after sometime, they're gonna be out for the other plataforms as well...
    i mean, Da** it, they're goin to release NFS: carbon even for Mobile Phones...
    I know how they work, if there were people buyin enough to worth the development costs, they would release it even for SNES...

    anyway...
    YEAH, Burnout 5!!!
    let's crash on the next-gen!
    (hope they notice that FlatOut 2 made it up for a little more sales with the driver flyin trough stuff, and put it in burnout as well xD)

    Cool, not only do they have 30 PS3 games in the works, but not one of them is an exclusive - which means they're making 30 versions of each game, which is 900 games. But that's EA for you, quality over quantity . . .

    I am one of those people that buys all the systems but I have to say I do find it a bit annoying that EA seems to favor sony so much. You hear reports that ea makes the graphics a little better for sony products if they can and it sees this whol thing with wwe and thq all has to do with thq not putting the game on ps3 and rumor has it ea will get the license. I could be worng of course but it does seem like they have a bias and I wonder if in a few years we will hear sony bought EA in a massive takeover. Of course then I imagine microsoft will just go buy nintendo.
