Gitaroo Man's PSP tour dated

Koei's rhythm game set to rock North America on November 14; PSP version includes original PS2 game plus extras.

Before Guitar Hero made strumming along to games cool, a few other rhythm-based titles cornered the market on virtual electric twangers. One such game was 2002's Gitaroo Man for the PlayStation 2, which saw players take on the role of a young man using a magical guitar to save the world.

The game's hero, U-1, is making a comeback tour of sorts on the PlayStation Portable. Koei today confirmed that Gitaroo Man Lives!, a port of the PS2 original, will head to North American stores on November 14. The game was released in Japan this past June and in Europe late last month.

The PSP edition will include all 10 stages from Gitaroo Man, as well as previously unreleased Gitaroo Man songs, a duet mode, and a versus mode using the handheld's wireless functions.

Gitaroo Man Lives! is rated E for Everyone and will retail for $39.99. For more information, read GameSpot's previous coverage.

Well, I'll have to shuffle my original off on Ebay before the PSP version hits.

with VP: Lenneth, the PS1 games, and now this; the PSP is shaping up to be the system that has those hard to find games of ridiculous prices.

I might have to look at this game. Maybe it will kill some time for a while. Plus it comes out the same week as the Nintendo Wii.

I'm going to be needing a PSP soon. With that and and the Wii, I'm going to be flat broke.

Wow and considering how much Gitaroo Man is on ebay, $39.99 sounds like a steal. I've heard the extras may not be worth it if you already have the PS2 version though.

Alot of people who have imported the game say its better in every aspect than its PS2 counter part, even in graphics and control

I didn't realise this has the PS2 game in. I might as well go buy this since I never played it on PS2.
