Xbox Live Madden 360 tourney coming
Online branch of Madden Challenge announced; winners flown to Hawaii for finals against regional offline champs, top eight get Visa cash cards.
The Madden Challenge has long been the gaming equivalent of the Super Bowl. Sponsored by Electronic Arts, the annual tournament looks for the best Madden NFL players to compete for bragging rights, glory, and $100,000. This year the competition went international, and today, Microsoft and EA announced that the competition is going somewhere else it's never been--online.
The Xbox Live Madden NFL 07 Tournament begins October 5, with those interested in competing duking it out in online competition on their Xbox 360s over Xbox Live. After October 10, the top 512 players on the leaderboard who have registered for the tournament will head to bracket play.
The winner of the tournament will be flown to Honolulu, Hawaii, and will be placed in the finals of the Madden Challenge for a chance at $100,000. The top eight players will receive Visa cash cards, and the top 16 will receive 1,000 Xbox Live Marketplace points.
