TGS 06: GBA Kingdom Hearts heading to PS2

Kingdom Hearts II director's edition to come in two-DVD set; second disk will feature a PS2 remake of Chain of Memories.

TOKYO--After the original Kingdom Hearts was released in 2002, Square Enix took the liberty of releasing its English-dubbed version in Japan so that Japanese Disney fans could enjoy the game with its original American voice actors. Square Enix will be doing the same with Kingdom Hearts II, but this time there's going to be an extra incentive for Japanese gamers to pick it up.

At the Tokyo Game Show, Square Enix announced it will release Kingdom Hearts II: Final Mix + in Japan. The game will be based on the American release of KHII, meaning that all the voices are dubbed in English with Japanese subtitles. The game will also feature a few extra updates, such as additional event scenes, battles, and map secrets.

Fans of the Kingdom Hearts series will be interested to hear that Square Enix is releasing the game as a two-DVD set. The second disc will contain extra bonuses, including a complete PS2 remake of the Game Boy Advance game Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories.

The game will play with full 3D graphics, and some of the event scenes will feature voices (in Japanese, not English). Square Enix was scarce on details, but it promised that the remake would also have some other additions that weren't featured in the original GBA version.

Kingdom Hearts II: Final Mix + is slated for release in Japan in spring 2007.

    Woah! Just when I thought there was nothing interesting to come for the PS2 anymore. I expect the graphics will be a bit not PS2-ish, but that's okay. I've always been interested in these. I'll buy these for sure.

    hey guys I heard a rumer last night on xplay that kingdom hearts on the gba is coming to the ps2 but it just a rumer so it could be true or not.

    Its only avalible in Japan, so don't get your hopes up, I got it for Christmas, but you need a modded PS2 or a japan PS2, I ahd mine Modded.

    stupid japanese hogging the extra boss battles and hidden scene from us how dare they. i cant wait for a next gen kingdom hearts game wich is expected 1 and a half years after birth by sleep wich looks awesome

    I think it's awesome to see the KH:COM in the PS2, many fans in America will love to have that version and SquareEnix knows that, so I belive that they will relase in America this game. Note: I'm one of those fans so lets hope they hear us.

    I asked a worker at Gamestop, and he said that Chain Of Memories for the PS2 is coming to the states. But not Final Mix though.

    I think we all saw the extended secret ending for KHII Final Mix about a thousand times already(by the way, wasnt that dude who was frozen Roxas, or am I just seein' stuff?). Im more lookin forward to fighting Zexion from Chain of Memories. I spent about 40 hrs. on the handheld overleveling and hunting down door cards, I want to redeem myself!!!

    I hope so. I would also like KH1 Final Mix to be released here in the states along with it. There are some Keyblades & other extra added features I would like to try out & experience.

    They can release in the states. Just bring the Japanese version and dub it in English subtitles. See " simple and clean ".

    I wonder if the GBA remake could have English subtitles?? Probably not... but it would make sense for them to go to all that trouble of remaking the game in 3D to have it in English, too... (I never got to play COM)

    if u seriously wanna get this game now, go to japan buy a japanese ps2 and buy both final mixes...(KH 1 FM and KH 2 FM+)
    but i can't wait for this game but the fall will come sooner than you think
    i really have high hopes for this game cause the new battles in FM+ are vicious..btw i saw them on youtube..square enix shuld be able to release FM+ in U.S. but then the japanese only KH 1 Final Mix makes me think this over..at least now you won't have to buy chain of memories because it comes packaged with KH II..
    Seriously i found kh and kh II for $37.81 on amazon...
    i have enough money to buy them both..

    Well... Two tickets to Tokyo please... I always wanted to see the land of the rising sun, i suppose. And i need a vacation. Oh yeah... AND KH2FM Why dear God why do they have to keep all the good stuff for em selves? or is it just me missing a point?!

    while having the final mix of KH2, im more excited about a remake of CoM, after seeing game play of that, and having recently beaten the game both times, i reallly would like to play a 3D version of the game. would like to battle all the extra bosses in the KH2: FM, but id be happy enough with just the CoM remake.

    WICKID. I've been wanting to buy "chain of memories" for ages. i dont care if i have to get #2 again, but i KNOW there is a new unlockable boss in it and a couple of extended scenes like "Riku vs Roxas"
