Resident Evil puts stamp on Japan
Tenth anniversary of Capcom's survival horror series celebrated with set of postage stamps; set of 10 80-yen collectibles to be released in Japan only.

When gamers think about Resident Evil, they often think of flesh-eating zombies, spine-tingling terror, and over-the-top, gruesome deaths. However, in Japan, they apprently think of stamp collecting.
Capcom's Resident Evil franchise turned 10 years old this year, and to celebrate the occasion, Japan will be getting a series of RE-themed postage stamps. A set of 10 stamps valued at 80 yen ($0.68) each will go on sale on September 20 and run for two months.
Five of the stamps will feature some of the series' more popular characters--Leon Kennedy, Ada Wong, Jill Valentine, Chris Redfield, and Rebecca Chambers. The remaining five bear the game's Japanese name of Biohazard, as well as a logo of S.T.A.R.S., the fictional special-ops squad that takes on hordes of zombies.
Resident Evil was released on the PlayStation in March 1996. The series has seen three sequels and several spin-offs and was the basis for a few movies starring model/actress Milla Jovovich. The next installment in the franchise, Resident Evil 5, is currently in development for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

I hope its made for PS3 and PORTED for X360, so that the PS guys don't get another ported game, u can't do that to a Resident Evil game....it has to be the best possible effort ever possible....wonder when Silent Hill would come to next gen....it would be so cooooooool....!!!!!!!!

I'm in agreeance. WHERE'S THE GAME INFO?!?!???? (Screen shots, RELEASE DATE, trailer video, etc.) & Capcom owes PS owners a Resident Evil 0 as well!!! This is one (1) of my most favorite franchises in videogame history.

Im surprised there is no wesker but im even more surprised that rebecca chambers is classified as popular since i wasnt expecting to see her on the stamps. I was expecting to claire and wesker. I cant believe N64NUT thinks leaon is the lamest character in the series. Ill admit that i wasnt a big fan of his in resi 2 but when i playd resi 4 it made all the difference and now he can be classifed as cool
