NHL 07 demo skates on to 360?
Electronic Arts' official blog for the game says the playable trial version of its pucks game is already up on the Marketplace; Marketplace disagrees.
It's like a game of he said, she said, only "he" is Electronic Arts' official Web site for NHL 07, and "she" is all evidence to the contrary. The official site was updated Monday with the following note:
NHL 07 is right around the corner but why wait? The Xbox 360 playable demo is live on the 360 Marketplace now! Fire up your Xbox 360 and download the NHL 07 demo before it's available in stores.
The only catch is that the demo wasn't up on the Marketplace as of press time.
This is not the first time the Xbox Live Marketplace wires have been crossed. In late June, when a demo for the 360 shooter Prey was late in arriving, Xbox Live director of programming Larry "Major Nelson" Hryb wrote on his blog that he cringes when developers or publishers promise to have Marketplace content available by a certain date.
"[G]etting a game through the certification process is very complex," Hryb said, "and often those promising the content by a certain date are not fully aware of all the pieces involved in bringing content to the Marketplace...and then when the content does not appear, well you know what happens."
