Dead Rising demo reanimating on XBL
Capcom confirms it is prepping an Xbox 360 trial of its zombie hackfest; release date of free trial still buried.
Capcom today released an extended TV spot for Dead Rising over Xbox Live Marketplace. In addition to showing off the game's penchant for zombie slaughtering with random items in a shopping mall, the trailer also gives the first notice of the game's demo.
At the end of the ad, text says that a demo is "coming soon" to Xbox Live Marketplace, but fails to mention any release date. When asked for more details, a Capcom rep would only confirm the demo, and said that the release date has not yet been determined. Given that Dead Rising is scheduled to be released on August 8, it's a good bet that the demo will be released sometime before then.
Gamers looking for precedent need only look to late last April, when a similar message promised another Capcom demo. A Lost Planet trailer stated that the game's demo would arrive on Marketplace almost two weeks later, and Capcom punctually delivered.
