Hudson working on 360 sequel to Microsoft's original Xbox party game; game to hit stores this holiday season.

Earlier this month, a GameStop product listing for Fusion Frenzy 2 for the Xbox 360 showed up on the Retail Radar. Today Microsoft confirmed that its original Xbox launch title Fuzion Frenzy would be getting a sequel after all--and a properly (or improperly, depending on one's perspective) spelled one at that.

Fuzion Frenzy 2 is set for release in the US this holiday season and will feature 40 minigames set on seven different planets, as well as online multiplayer matches and tournaments. Players will be able to use "tournament cards" they've earned for a variety of purposes, including selecting the next game to be played or choosing the next planet to go to.

Microsoft will publish the game, but it is entrusting development to Hudson. Well known for its experience with the party game genre, Hudson counts hits like Bomberman and Mario Party among its past titles.

It seems Fuzion Frenzy 2 won't be the only party game to hit the Xbox 360 this holiday season. According to the Web site of original Fuzion Frenzy developer Blitz Games, the studio is currently working on a secret project it describes as "an exciting new suite of 'pick-up and play' action games for Xbox and Xbox 360." That project is also due in the fourth quarter.

    I designed the original characters for the First Fuzion Frenzy when working at Blitz games in the UK. I still have the original A3 sketches and clean up illustrations of all of them in my portfolio.

    The New game by Hudson Looks loads better, and you can bet the game will play better to!
    I'm Glad the team behind it went to Hudson beacuse I love mario party and if Fuzion 2 is in any way as imaginative it wil be awsome!

    Blitz Games turned down the sequel; fools.

    Sweet just when I got back into the first the second comes out. But only 40 mini games even with the XBOX 360, a little disappointing but still can't wait

    It's one of my favorites too. So I say keep on abusing that power. I'm about to go revisit the original with my cousin, brush up on our Twisted System skills...jump....duck!!!

    This is nothing like Mario Party other than its a party game. And were plenty before Mario Party came on the scene. It may become a little more like it seeing as how the developer of Mario Party is making this new edition. But all in all something to play with the girl or my nieces and nephews.

    Yahoo!!! Please make the characters more charming and a storyline driven solo campaign where we get to experience where the charaters are comming from and how in the world they in land in such adventures, or something like that...

    To Ragincoley86 I would love to know how this is a rip off of Mario Party.Each game is different both are fun and so I am happy to see this game will be coming out on the 360.The first was a great party game and this one should too.So I am happy to see MS is bringing these fun kind of games out on the 360 and if you do not like them thats fine.I like the game and I hope to see it be a great fun time to play with your friends and have a ball.

    PantsOfFury knows the business. As you drink more the more you will lose and the more you loss the more you drink. Try focus on the twisted system when after you had a few shots.

    Excellent news - I hated that there never was a sequel until now. I remember buying this game right after playing the demo on my Halo disc when Xbox launched.

    This was a fun party game. One of the best imo. I never owned it though so right there I loose alot of my credibility. but i played it a good amount. Kung Fu Chaos 2 would be even better though.

    ughhh i hate fusion frenzy
    at least its not as boring and lame as mario party [a cake come on]

    Fusion Frenzy was a great drinking game. You just played from the minigame selection. If you lost, you had to drink, and the winner got to pick the game.

    I love this game! Sue me. The first fuzion frenzy kept me and my friend entertained for many an hour. Online play is going to be amazing with this style of game. Hopefully people won't quit half way through (I'm one of those people who never quit - no matter how bad I'm losing). I can't wait for this game.

    Hopefully it will cost $40 and not $60.

    Did Hudson do the first Fusion Frenzy? They do a pretty good job with the Mario Party series. Maybe they'll make this Fusion Frenzy a great game.

    The first one was good, the only bad thing was there was only about 7 types of game's with just diffrent versions of them. But ya, twised system RULED!

    Great. I know the first one was hated by everyone but it's actually pretty fun. Besides you need 1 party game for every system.
