Web gets Tingle-y

Internet site for RPG starring Link's leotard-wearing pal opens; absurd Japanese-language Flash minigame now playing.

Almost a month ago, Legend of Zelda fans were ecstatic to hear about a new series spin-off possibly in the works. However, more than a few eyebrows were raised when they found out the protagonist would be Tingle, the...errr...effeminate wannabe fairy.

The source of the news came from a magazine scan posted on Jeux-France, and even though Nintendo has yet to officially confirm the existence of "A Fresh Tingle's Rose-Colored Happy Land," it is reportedly headed to the DS.

If gamers needed more proof that the game is in the works, they need only head over to the project's new wacky Web site. Currently, there is a Flash minigame that sees Tingle in a strange room with an oven, some type of computer, and other gizmos. It only takes a few clicks of the mouse to begin the absurdity.

Among the highlights visitors will find are cartoons featuring Tingle dressing up like a puppy and hiding in boxes, another showing him disposing of a fly in rather disgusting fashion, and some sketch drawings of what appears to be Tingle stalking Link across the elf's various games, including Super Smash Bros. and The Legend of Zelda: The Windwaker.

    sign me up!! more DS rpgs cant be bad. and yes Kooloo Limpaah!! I was feeling very so-so about this title, but those new screens have me excited though.

    Yeah, I'd be surprised if anyone thought Tingle first appeared in Wind Waker. A lot more people have played Ocarina of Time and Wind Waker compared to Majora's Mask though, because it was released in the late stages of the N64's time, so that might be the reason why people think he was first in WW.

    Um... I don't fully speak Japanese so this could be very wrong. But so far I've managed to translate a bit of what the fairy in the computer says to you when you click on it.
    1st screen: Nice to meet you
    I'm Pitsuwaru
    2nd screen: This is you're first time here right?
    (sexy voice) Then there are a lot of things I'll tell you.
    (I think this is basically asking if you want to find out how to play the game)
    Then you choose yes or no from the 2 tingle buttons that appear.
    (If you press yes, you are presented with the following screen.

    3rd screen: Rupees are what they call the money in this world.
    4th screen: (dunno but something about Rupees being essential for some reason)
    5th screen: Right now you merely have 100 Rupees (then something about being able to get more because he's a bachelor or something)
    6th screen: (She explains about the rupee counter in the top-right of the screen)
    That's all I could get before it all became too confusing.

    I felt sorry for the puppy in the 4 koma. Is the soup suppoused to make an exploding flower though? I can't seem to get very far in this game, maybe I'm not supoused to...

    Why does everyone forget he was in Majora's Mask? I remember reading an article here that said he first appeared in Windwaker...What is up with that? No one else remembers popping his balloon to buy some maps?

    I still want to hear about a enemy game that would be cool playing as Ganondorf would be so much more fun to me. Getting to beat up link and other stuff like that or maybe bring in a new guy for Ganondorf to fight.Playing as Tingle who is a faerie is not my kind of game I want to buy.

    I was just telling my girlfriend about Tingle this morning. See the gym I go to has this old people swim class. And they all bounce around the pool in slow motion with big grins on their faces. They look just like everyone's favorite fairy wannabe / map seller! PS: Did anyone notice that Tingle is Tincle in Japanese? Who wants some Tincle on their Wii? I do!
