Pretty kewl article...I can;t wait till ps3 comes out.. and before that the psp camera..

here´s my thoughts:

There was a couple things that made me to decide to get a xbox360. 1: was the number of great games like halo gears of war prey battlefield huxley. even if i´m the casual gamer i always loved firstperson shooters. 2 the fact that you can play old arcade games as well is amazing i´m really looking forward to more classics.

The reason i´m not into sony is that i´m not aware what games they make and what type of games they make. i´ve always liked the rumble in the controllers why did sony decide to take that feature out for the next gen? on the other hand they have my deepest respect on the BC. while the xbox only were able to play a few of the original xbox games and need a emulator to play every single one of them. ps3 will be able to play the whole catalog of past ps games which could come in handy.

Come on guys, stop dissing Nintendo. High graphics aren't everything. I think they can actually pull it off. I think that Nintendo could definatly make in 2nd place. I would buy a PS3, but I'm a little worried it won't do that good, due to the price. I would by a Xbox 360, but everytime I look up, they are adding something new to it. Well, at least Nintendo is doing good in Japan. It will never die there, because the japanese don't usually play violent and bloody games.

This is all useless chat. All systems have specialties which deserves them some recognition. Last gen had PS2 with plenty of games, but many were crappy (I owned a console until XBOX advent). The box had a great hardware (far superior than PS2) and great games, but suffered from lack of releases. Current gen with 360 is superior than predecessor, but it did not revealed as the big leap. PS3 will have very same performance, minor differences (not the same as XBOX vs. PS2 graphics, fps). Regarding Wii, it is designed to a niche, as the GameCube was. In summary, if you can afford, get all the systems and stop this nonsense war.

reading through comments and i got few things to say--1)ps3 games wont be 99 bucks each---they will be around 60 to 70--like the 360.2)everyone talks about the 360 being cheaper---by time people go out and buy the add-on peripheral for hd-dvd playability--200 bucks maybe 249.99 will put the 360 well over the 600 dollar mark---
3)wiiis gonna fail--even nintendo says they werent going for graphics and hi definition--but that they were going for innovation...they know they cant compete with sony or microsoft--
4)resident evil 4 did come out for the gamecube and the sells werentwhat they were wanting them to be--so they released it on the ps2 and it sold 4 times the copies than that on the gamecube----so no more exclusivity for gamecube from capcom----
5)if games are expensive--thats alright since inflation isgoing up and cost of everything is also going up---plus the people that make these games need to be paid---they might work on a game for 4 yrs and cash in on the sales--lets say a game sells for so many bucks and they sell a million copies---thats so many million bucks--subtracting advertisement and campaigning for the game---thats a good 10 million less---now---so many million bucks to spread over certain amount of people--lets say 240 people--thats how many people worked on god of war---thatsso many million dollars per person--and they dont get all that--since they were for companies that get paid royalties for buying the game and putting it on the shelves---so the people make-so these people get paid 50 thousand bucks for one game--but thats 10 thousand a year for 5years-----so cost of games isnt an issue--these people need paid---if they dont get paid--we dont get games to play--then bye bye video games--
6)if you dont want to pay 600 bucks for the ps3system--then by all means--dont--but the 360 was rushed--they didnt even wait to see if they wanted to support the hd-dvd format---it will a add-on peripheral--costing 200-250 bucks .atleast sony took their time said hey lets go with bluray for games and movie format---if the bluray doesnt succeed for movies--then they will still develop games for it on bluray--
7)people say companies didnt like the ps2 because it was hard to make games for it---year later the ps2 library is2 times larger than that of the xbox and xbox360 and the gamecube combined..the only think keeping nintendo alive is the gameboy advance--and the ds---and ds lite---and the only thingpeople have to look forward to on the gamecube and the wii system is more mario-zelda-metroid and pokemon--not for me
i am not a xbox fanboy or ps3 fanfoy or wii fanboy--i got the 360 and will have the ps3--and wii if they come out with any games i want to play----but with the wii controller--sure a few games would be fun to play that way but not all of them---and lets not forget being charged for old school games from nintendo available from games from nintendo--over last 20 yrs...yippee---if i wanted oldschool--i'd go buy me old school systems--i want next gen--dont know aboutyou guys--

well in that concept..metal gear solid game came out one both game cube and playstation, they were better on the playstation..at least when they came out on the playstation they were still in style

whats funny, is that resident evil 4 came out on the gamecube first. it was way better on the cube

The Wii is not even one of the new gen consoles it the battle, being that it will not be worth a flip, that thing is the cheapest new gen console, that is another console made for the younger generation, the wii is going to be in the same position as the gamecube.....and that is in last place of the new gens, they dropped the price of the game cube sooo much and added games with it, and people still dont care to much for it....now that is how you can tell when something has gone bad..the only thing that is going to help the wii is that you will be able to download old school games to it, but that is kinda cheap.. we are going into new generation while they are still stuck on old school.. that is saying that their old school games are better than their future release games.. I would leave the wii out of the battle

Some of you just don't realize how much you're getting with the PS3. It will literally be a computer. It will come with Linux preinstalled in it and I'm sure it'll have a great GUI to go with it. The connectivity with the PSP is another plus. I would love to be able to donwload any content I wanted from my PS3 at home to my PSP through an internet connection. Not to mention the ways that they are incorporating the psp into actual gameplay. The bluray player is anoter big plus and the new HDMI technology thats coming out on the PS3 wich is more than double the badwith of current HDMI output. I'm saving up not only for my PS3 but also for my 56" DLP High Deff TV. Oh and a new sorround sound system. I don't mind working over time for a couple of months to treat my self to what I want and not deprive my self. That's how I see it.

Same to little yoshie..yes they know the ps3 will be the best new gen console, its already official that the ps3 has alotmore graffic processing power than the other new gen consoles capabilities too, people are all trying to make sony look bad..but what is really happening is they are making themselves look bad for the console they are rooting for, because that console's company is not ever doing all those child like name calling phrases, but they are...Its been proven sony also wont have one of those SHORTAGES like micosoft did, that was such a pity, some stores only had a shipment of like 20 360's that was a bad move..they were just too anxious to release that system, but people did not start actually getting into the 360 gaming work until almost a year after the release, sorry to say but the little handheld psp done bettter than that, it even didnt even have any shortages...

That is one thing for sony, they never have those minor problems, and they know when the time is right for them to release their products.

PS3 will have amazing graphics but high price. Xbox 360 has a bit less stronger graphics than the PS3 but is at a lower price. So there all good in there ways. Oh and dont go on about who has better games also. They all have there specialty. Nintendo has Link, Mario, and Samus. Microsoft has Master chief, and Ninja gaiden. Sony has Snake, and Final Fantasy. Well Gadeos, all I know is that I will have four things to make my gaming experiance complete. Those are, Rumbling Controllers, Fable 2, Gears of War, and of course Halo 3.

I don't know why the comments on the article got this direction, fanboys from all three next-gen fighting each other. But, anyway, as i'm a PS "fanboy" (One, 2 and upcoming 3), i'll just take advantage of this situation and say a few words on something that's REALLY troubling me: PS3 won't have vibration... that's old news, i know. But, seriously, that little characteristic's got me thinking on if it's worth it to buy a PS3. I mean, this is a must have since it was introduced all those years ago. I won't talk about the 360 (it sucks), but the Wii. Man, that nunchuck stuff is just amazing, a revolutionary concept. It's really gonna change gameplay history. How come Sony didn't think of something similar, but a few months before and came out with a ridiculous PS2 like controller, only kinetic (similar to the Wii's) but with NO vibration??????? It might not look like an essential thing, but once you're used to play and feel every hit on your hand, stopping feeling it isn't too cool. I'd like to hear some opinions on this subject, from all sides (360, Wii, PS3). How the vibration feature affects the gameplay experience?? for me, it diminishes the feeling of reality and believability of games. Will its abbsence affect my desition of wether buying a PS3 or a Wii?? right now's hard to tell. And... I don't think we all care too much on Sony's executives moves.... TALK ABOUT GAMES!!!!

seriously, all the fanboys need to relax, I buy a system because of the games. if a console has a built in toaster and an anti theft alarm, who cares!! if the great games are on the system then thats all that matters. ive never been fan of the ps2 because i dont like the controller but i bought one anyways and i got a crap load of entertainment. god of war, resident evil 4, ace combat, gt4, gta, san an, mgs3. all great games, the only reason i never did get a gamecube other than the fact that its a purple lunchbox is because none of the games appeal to me. on the other hand, dont forget that the ps3 has a crap load of other features that make it almost like a computer, that is if you care about all the high tek gagetry stuff. i have a psp, and even though it doesnt have a huge library of games, all the usefulness of that little unit more than makes up for it.

Lol, if the PS3 came with a toaster, I think less people would complain. The thing here is that the PS3 has too many perihperals that too many people deem uneccessary, and these perihperals are what knocked the PS3's price up to the $600 range. I love Sony's games, so naturally I wouldn't give the next Playstation system a second thought when it comes to me buying it, but in this case I'm having a real hard time deciding what I'll do - I know I can't miss out on MGS4 or FFXIII and Versus XIII, or the next GoW or SoTC, and DMC4, RE5, DQIX, Dark Cloud 3 and plenty of other titles - but I also know that I wont be dishing out ($750+ CND) on launch day to get a PS3, because it's just absurd.

I'll most likely end up buying a PS3 later on down the road, hopefully when MGS4 is released and hopefully a price drop is in order by then. As for Sony - I never thought I'd say this, but they're the screw up of the year; starting with their press conference at E3, to their "new" controller announcement, to the big tax paycheck force on them, to these PSP ads, they seem like they can't get nothing working. Now I'm not a proffessional when it comes to finance, but things might not work out too well for Sony in this next-gen era, and they'll end up losing money by the end of it all. If they think pricing their games at $99 USD will solve all their problems, thinkg again, who in their right mind will spend that ammount of money on a single title (and perhaps people do spend that much, they'd cut down on the ammount of games they buy, so instead of buying 50 PS3 titles, people will be buying 25). Good luck Sony, I'm really hoping things don't go wrong for you guys, but as of now I just want my MGS and FF, and if it means them moving over to the 360 - so be it, atleast I bought that one at a reasonable price.
