Eidos orders Diner Dash for handhelds

Publisher makes deal with PlayFirst to bring hit casual game to PSP, DS, Game Boy Advance in 2007.

Casual games generally aren't designed with hardcore gamers in mind, but that's never stopped them from being enjoyed by dedicated joystick jockeys. When the Game Boy debuted, Tetris was its original killer app. More recently, casual classics such as Bejeweled and Zuma have found new audiences on the Xbox Live Marketplace.

Now, Eidos is bringing one of the biggest casual-game hits of recent years to the handheld platforms. The publisher today announced that it has reached an agreement with PlayFirst to port the PC game, and that PlayStation Portable, Nintendo DS, and Game Boy Advance versions of the game would be released in 2007.

In Diner Dash, players take control of Flo, a restaurant entrepreneur who must balance an array of tasks crucial to the success of her business, such as seating customers, taking orders, delivering food, and busing tables. I have Diner Dash Deluxe for PC, great game to fool around with and very addictive after a few hours.

I never knew there was a sequel for PC.

meh...the game was a fun diversion but I could never see spending more than $9.99 on it. I see it working the best on the DS.
