Final Fantasy XII in stores on Halloween
Latest in long-running series from Square Enix gets a street date of October 31; first details on limited-edition package revealed.
Gamers who've already made plans for Halloween this year might have to rethink them. Square Enix today announced that it will release Final Fantasy XII for the PlayStation 2 in North America on October 31.
The publisher is releasing the game in both a standard package ($49.99) and a Collector's Edition ($59.99), the latter of which will be available exclusively through GameStop and EB Games. For the extra $10, gamers will get a bonus DVD with developer interviews, featurettes about the series, Japanese and American promotional trailers, and an art gallery.
A playable demo of the game was included in last year's major Square Enix role-playing game, Dragon Quest VIII, while Japanese gamers got the chance to get their hands on the game when it was released in that country in March. Check out GameSpot's hands-on impressions of the final Japanese retail version for more.
