Barcelona hosts X06

Microsoft's "Xbox brand experience" will be held in Spain in late September; company promises new details for the future of 360, PC.

Microsoft's European vacation will continue in Barcelona, Spain, which was today confirmed as the site for X06, this year's international gathering for all things Xbox. The event will take place September 27 and 28 of this year at an as-yet undisclosed location.

The X0 events, almost always held in Europe, have been used as an opportunity for Microsoft to make the latest announcements regarding the Xbox line of products, business dealings, and upcoming games, or as Microsoft calls it, "an Xbox brand experience." According to the company, the tradition will continue with "exclusive new announcements" and "next-generation gaming experiences."

This will be the second trip to Spain for the X0 series, which was previously held in Seville, Spain, in 2002. Last year, the event was held in Amsterdam and focused almost exclusively on the Xbox 360. The only time the X0 series was held outside of Europe was in 2004, when it took place in Toronto, Canada.

Microsoft has said it will release more information about the event in the coming weeks.

    I would almost bet my life savings on Halo 3 being native 1080p resolution, now that MS has openly admitted that the 360 is capable of it, seems like the perfect announcement to steal a bit of Sony's thunder (and silence there claims as to " It's not true HD " - lmao, we will see about that ) .....but i bet it would have to be released over 2 discs (1 Single Player the other Multiplayer). Hopefully Bungie won't make a mess of it this time round :S.

    Wouldnt mind hearing a bit about Alan Wake too, does anyone actually know what that game is about? - lol Some more GoW, Mass Effect ect. - should be good

    Is the WII controller going to be anything like those arcade games where you have a light gun? coz im not a paticualr fan of those, i think id prefer a conventional controller. Motion senstivie sounds like a less than stellar idea if you ask me..

    maybe not. soulknight, but i've always felt Microsoft was a bit off on their first gen. Ignoring the japanese market hurt them deeply, and this won't be easy to catch up with 360(we're already seeing slow japanese sales for 360) Microsoft needs to wake up a bit though. I hope they have something good, other than announcing the obvious price drop they'll set just before the PS3 launch.

    Why not in Poland? We even don't have officially Xbox 360 in stores, so certainly deserve for that kind of event .

    I don't bother that X06 will take place in Spain, cause in August in Germany (Leipzig) will be Games Convention, and it's near Poland, so it's not a big problem for a Polish gamer to see the hottest titles in action.

    lawl i can picture sony's show, crash bandicoot 12, yet another tekken game to launch with, that fails to live up to expectations (soulcaliber pwned all) yet more details on the overdone formula of GTA, and then some self proclamed "Halo killer" dam if i had a pound coin for every time ive herd that

    Good ideas there, primenova. I personally hope Rare goes to Wii (for nostalgia's sake), but Xbox Live versions Goldeneye and Perfect Dark are mighty tempting.

    Hah, obvious Xbox/Halo fanboy post here. First of all, you have absolutely no idea if Halo 3 is going to be good or not. Neither story/multiplayer specifics have been given, and no gameplay footage has been shown. You can't just assume Halo 3 will be good because it's Halo. That's what everyone did with Halo 2, and the campaign was terrible. Multiplayer WAS fun for a while, but then modders and glitchers ruined it for everyone.

    Second of all, pretty much every single gaming journalist in the industry, not to mention the thousands of people at E3, disagree with your second statement. You have absolutely no proof that the Wii will suck, and everyone that has played it says it is awesome. So, good job, there. Both the validity of your post and your credibility as a poster have been demoralized. Good day.

    This makes me hope Nintendo will hold a SpaceWorld this year. With MS having X06, and Ninty having SpaceWorld, that=no hype for PS3...not that there really is any right now anyway, haha!

    Just a few predictions, mind you.

    public demo of single and multiplayer Halo 3, possibly in playable demo form; along with playable 360 versions of FEAR, Splinter Cell 4, Forza 2, and other 2007 games. Official announcement of 260 holiday season price drop (but not what the price will drop to--they'll save that to the last minute). maybe a public showing of Mistwalker offerings, but they may save those for the TGS. Rumors of Rare games making it to Nintendo Wii's Virtual console will abound, but my bet is they steal Ninty's thunder and add them to X-Box Live. Who doesn't want Live-enabled versions of Goldeneye and Perfect Dark, or a jazzed-up version of RC Pro-Am?

    Maybe they will announce a new company acquisition... or maybe a new tilt-sensitive controller with touch-sense technology. Who knows?... but I will definitely be looking forward to it!

    I'll pass on halo 3, simply because i didn't like Halo 2, it tried to be more than it needed to be, Halo on the other hand was better than Halo 2.....i'll try halo 3 but if it plays like it's Generic Shooter prequel....it'll be screw halo 3 from me, i'm more interested in games like cloning clyde, Splinter Cell 4, and what ever else might tickle my fancy
