New FlatOut lays out soundtrack

Tunes will rock, cars will roll in Bugbear's wreck-happy racer; soundtrack includes Wolfmother, Mötley Crüe, Audioslave.

Heavy metal meets twisted metal in FlatOut 2, the follow-up to last year's FlatOut, from developer Bugbear. Today, Empire Interactive announced the soundtrack for the demolition derby disguised as a racer, and it's full of rockers from the past and present.

The sound of grinding car parts and shattering glass will be accompanied by the riffs of Australian trio Wolfmother, the new sound of Apple's iPod commercials, and rock group du jour. Fellow youngsters Fall Out Boy will contribute "7 Minutes in Heaven" and "Snitches and Talkers Get Stitches and Walkers," and Yellowcard will also pitch in with "Rough Landing Holly" and "Breathing."

The soundtrack will also offer classic tunes from the days of trashed hotel rooms and denim jackets. Megadeth ("Symphony of Destruction") and Mötley Crüe ("Dr. Feelgood") provide nostalgia, and vet-rocker Rob Zombie also adds two tracks.

FlatOut 2 is scheduled for release on the Xbox, PlayStation 2, and the PC this August. For more information, check out GameSpot's previous coverage.

So recently I decided to download those artist's songs..... and I've got FREAKED OUT!!!!

Motley Crue,Wolfmother,Rise Against and Underoath are in the game.Sweet.I recognize the other names, but the 4 bands I mention are the ones I listen to,so I think it's going to be a cool soundtrack.

Soundtrack sucks, I would want better songs if I was racing derby or race or street. I like 5 songs on there, wolfmother rob zombie and megadeth. Megadeth you don't get in game only at the menu. Same track order everytime you play, like the first one but the first one had some very good songs. Flatout 1 rules.

The last game was good also because of the soundtracks, now it look's like the next game is going to have great sound too.
Flatout is a great game to play on LanParty's, can't wait to play it! ^_^

At least some of these songs don't suck. The first had such an awful soundtrack. It was too European. It was whimpy. I still think they need an all metal soundtrack. Some Deicide, Slayer, Megadeth, Anthrax, Iron Maiden, Biohazard, White Zombie, Pantera, Immortal, Marduk, Morbid Angel...

I loved Flatout but had to turn off the music since it sucked so much. This time I will get to play and keep the music on.

P.S If you are just going to say something like "flatout sucks" than why are you even looking at its news?

That is an amazing soundtrack! Fall Out Boy, Underoath, Yellowcard, Megadeath, Rob Zombie, Rise Against, Papa Roach, Motely Crue, Nickelback AND WOLFMOTHER! One of the best soundtracks I have seen in a long time!

For a game that did not interest me, Flatout is the most fun I have ever had at a LAN party. 6 crap crashing the crap out of each other and everything around them is something you can't get out of many games. I just hope they keep more free-roaming and rally aspects like the first one.

Soundtrack is better than the first. Megadeath, Alk trio. cant go wrong

Wow, a solid rock soundtrack for a solid rock game. It a good move but seriously, If someone wanted to buy this game, he/she will only be more eager and if someone didn't want the game, I dont think soundtrack can help too much.

Also i hate ignorant people, megadeth is a kick ass band, but i like alot of the others as well, how can you hate on zombie, also papa roach is from az like me, and my best friends sister best friend used to date jacobie(the leader singer of papa roach).

    LomgHair
Screw FLATOUT, i'm gonna spend the money on DEFINE THE GREAT LINE, next tuesday!

LomgHair- your a certain word, go play halo like all of the other morons who think halo is the only good game on the planet. I love racing game and destruction. halo is by far an average game, its only the best fps if the last game you played was doom in 1992 and have had your head up your until halo came out.

Eccchh... there's some, to put it nicely, not so great music there. This title needs either southern rock, and/or more classic heavy metal to fit the style and setting, not this b/s Canadian Nickelback bull**** and poser emo lameness like Fall Out Boy.

This is a very impressive soundtrack!!! The developers have secured a lot of Heavy Metal bands and this one will surely Rock!!!

nice to see they have licenced music this time around. BugBear put the money back into production, that's very respectible. Hopefully the game's more fun than the first. The series has lots of potential.

Still its a sweet looking game. I clicked on the screenshots once and thought I was looking at a 360 game, not bad for something running on an xbox.

Meh, Flatout doesn't impress me in any aspect. Having an expensive soundtrack isnt going to sway me either.
