Microsoft and Big Huge Games have announced that Rise of Nations: Rise of Legends has shipped to retail stores across North America. The real-time strategy game is the sequel to GameSpot's PC Game of the Year 2003 and boasts locations such as cities, deserts, and ice planes.

The original's Conquer the World Campaign returns for Rise of Legends, along with an improved multiplayer mode that offers the option of longer battles or shorter 20-minute campaigns. The game will put you in control of vast armies and offers a mix between cutting-edge technology and magic.

Rise of Nations: Rise of Legends is rated T for teen and has a suggested retail price of $49.99.

There's an updated demo out... The first one was unoptimized. Bad move by BHG - it probably put a lot of people off the game for good. Unlucky for them cause it's a great game.

I just couldn't get that demo to run at more than a few FPS, even on a GeForce7800. Hopefully the retail version will be better.

PLayed the demo, loved it, now can't wait for the game. I never liked RTS's, but everything just seemed to work here...I'll be picking it up once the price drops for sure.

Nice.. but I don't play PC games anymore. Don't have the same appeal to me as they used to.

Great news, I care more about this than hearing crap about yet another lame Halo game. Go Big Huge Games, oh baby yeah! WOOT!

Yes good news.I liked the first one hope this one will be awesome too.

What could make this even better would be if it would come out on the 360 or PS3 some day soon.
