E3 06: Trauma Center gets second opinion

UPDATE--Confirmed for Wii, Trauma Center will be making it to home console according to poster at Nintendo booth.

LOS ANGELES--With the GameSpot booth a mere stone's throw from Nintendo at E3, we've had to remain ultra tight-lipped about what we've seen at the show before the doors opened this morning. One of the little snippets of information we've caught is for Trauma Center: Second Opinion, which has a poster over at the Nintendo booth. The game hasn't been given an official announcement yet, so there's no word on whether the game will be playable, but we've now heard that it will be coming to the Wii.

The original Trauma Center was a novel puzzle game wrapped in a medical theme. Playing Dr. Derek Stiles, a relatively inexperienced doctor, you had to stop a rogue group from unleashing a man-made disease called GUILT on the nation. Hopefully the sequel will match the original level of insane medical operations, but we'll be certain to have more for you directly from the show.

    I just got the ds game the other day, and I'm having the time of my life. It's started out hard, but once I got an understanding of what to use and when, I've gotten beyond losing most time. I'm pretty sure I'm close to done with the game. Can't wait till the the Rev and it's installment. Looking forward to the same characters and everything. I dunno what you guys had against Angie, she was great. Couldn't have done those procedures without her!

    The DS game was great. I've yet to beaten it, and that's one thing I wanna say, I hope that Atuls tones down the difficulty a little. maybe some difficulty modes should help? I'm on the last level of the story, but damn, that game is hard. However it's so much fun to play to.

    I have wanted this game since the revmote was revealed, it is a perfect match and I hpoe they keep it nice and hard (well they could have a real difficulty and an easy one, but I want the difficulty)

    The 5 patients in 10 minutes is pretty hard. But the DS game looks and plays great. I hope the Wii version is as good as this one. I also hope they keep the same settings and some of the characters. It would be nice to see other kinds of powers rather than just slowing down time while you are operating.

    The difficulty didn't annoy me nearly as much as Angie's incessant interjections. I REAAAAALLLLY hope that there is a way to turn "helps" off.

    When I had finally beat the game (not the X-missions mind you, those were so hard that they became a joke) I had rashly thrown my DS across the room a couple of times out of frustration from Angie and once on the 5 patients in 10 minutes level.

    Well real surgery is very hard and intense. A lot of people go through med school and wind up switching paths since they are not cut out to do those surgeries. They can assist and even diagnose etc but they are not cut out to be the main operating guy.

    Heck that is why surgery is often part of a doctor's title now adays. Nuerosurgeon, Heart surgeon, plastic surgeon.

    But there are far more neurophysicians then neurosurgeons.

    yes the first one required a zen like state to complete, but i think thats what kept me coming back. very good news indeed. although i must admit it is a very frustrating game at times, the wii-mote might be better suited for virtual surgery.

    I loved the DS game. Playing TC on the Wii with the Wii-mote should be very entertaining.
