E3 06: Atari unveils E3 lineup

Alone in the Dark, Test Drive Unlimited, and Dragon Ball Z games on show in LA.

Atari has announced the nine games that will be shown in Los Angeles from May 10-12 as part of its E3 lineup. Heading up the list are Alone in the Dark, Test Drive Unlimited, and Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 2, the latter of which is being released on Nintendo's forthcoming Wii console.

Alone in the Dark, out on Xbox 360 and Windows, is being developed by Eden Studios and is set for release next year. Test Drive Unlimited is currently scheduled for a third-quarter 2006 release date and was recently confirmed for the PlayStation 2 and PlayStation Portable as well as the Xbox 360 and PC. Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 2 will be available on the PS2 and Nintendo Wii, and while the release date for the game is unconfirmed, it will combine action, fighting, and light role-playing game elements.

Other games on display at the show include Battlezone on the PSP, Dungeons & Dragons: Tactics on the PSP, HOT PXL on the PSP, Neverwinter Nights 2 on the PC, and Super DBZ(Dragon Ball Z) on the PS2. Arthur and the Minimoys is also being shown and will see a multiformat release on the PS2, PlayStation Portable, Nintendo DS, Game Boy Advance, and Windows. We'll have more from Atari's stand when the show opens next week.

    DBZ on the Wii eh...looking forward to how thats gonna work out, or any game being played on the Wii for that matter. Seems like they have a solid roster for E3 though.

    Alone in the dark looks very creepy and cool and im sure that will get alot of attention at E3 and i also wanna see what dragonball z on the Wii will be like and will be interesting to see how they have implemented the controller.

    Some of the games for Wii, may not work right with the Wii's joypad.

    Obviously no one here played indigo prophecy since you say all Atari makes is crap, all video game sights gave it relatively high reviews and its a hell of a lot of fun to play

    I hope they make Uwe Boll one of the monsters in Alone in the Dark. He deserves that for that travesty of a movie.

    Once NWN2 is released, that opens the door for KOTOR III (and IV and presumably V), since I would imagine they would use the NWN2 engine, much llike 1&2 used the original NWN engine.

    Well, I'll thank Gamespot for getting my hopes up about Alone in the Dark for PS3, without any official confirmation, just like how they list Assassins Creed as multiplat.

    Oh well, here's to the PC version.

    Alone in the Dark looks great! I hope they decide to port it over to the PS3. no use in letting a good game go to waste.

    If you actually followed video games, you'd know that this isn't even the same company, this Atari was at one point called Infogrames.

    korn, Alone in the Dark is console-exclusive to the 360. The only other version is a PC edition.

    test drive is looking good, hope it revives the series, dbz on the wii could be interesting, hope its not a straight port of the ps2 version.

    It seems that Atari will have some strong games for this year's E3. Alone in the Dark looks awesome and it should be one of the show's best games. Let's see what Atari will unveil for the Nintendo Wii and how they will make use of the controller for the Dragon Ball game.
