Atari, Namco Bandai set up publishing deal

The European and Japanese publishers have gone into partnership to release handheld games in Europe.

Atari has announced that it is partnering with Japanese publisher Namco Bandai to bring a range of handheld games to Europe.

The first six titles, which have been released in the US and/or Japan, will be launched in Europe in the summer. Five GBA games have so far been announced: Ace Combat Advance, Atomic Betty, Popeye: Rush for Spinach, Sigma Star Saga, and Rebelstar: Tactical Command. One DS title has also been announced--Dig Dug Digging Strike.

"Thanks to our extensive European distribution network, European gamers will be able to discover and play these games for the first time this summer," said Jean-Michel Perbet, president of Atari Europe.

No PSP games I see up there they should make some PSP games some day.

Plus more games on the GBA they should make more in the future for the DS over the GBA.

I wonder why they would not more all the GBA games to the DS.

Good to see Europe will get these games.

Good news for Europe! Sucks, tho, that our Euro buddies almost always have to wait so long for the gaming goodness the rest of the world gets so quickly. "They're" getting better at this, tho...hopefully, as time rolls on, this will become a non-issue and world-wide releases will be commonplace.

SSS and Rebelstar are ok, but I wouldn't touch those other titles with a ten-foot pole. Honorable mention goes to Dig Dug for being a remake of a classic, but it could have turned out better than it did.

More EU games could garner more interest, which can make for more games in the US, yippee!
