E3 06: Sega Rally Revo races to next-gen systems

Newly formed Sega Driving Studio to bring rally racing franchise to PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC next year.
By Staff, GameSpot
Posted Apr 28, 2006 2:48 am PT

The Sega Rally series is set to tackle the tarmac again next year when Sega Rally Revo is released on the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC. The company's newly formed Sega Driving Studio is developing the game, which Sega promises will have dynamically deforming track surfaces that react not only to the weather, but also to the competitors' tires driving over them.

The game will offer a range of 4WD, 2WD, and classic vehicles to drive around many types of courses, from littered gravel tracks to paved all-weather roads and snow-driven trails. The game will offer single-player and multiplayer split-screen modes, along with online play and artifical intelligence that adapts to track conditions.

Expect to see more coverage of Sega Rally Revo from next month's Electronic Entertainment Expo in Los Angeles, California.

To everyone who wants a Wii version- don't hold your breath. I don't see how you can control a racing game with the Wii-mote, anyways...

i thought there couldnt have been a crappier name then 360 but leave it to kidtendo. a racing game without a controller or steering wheel is crap. I will not race a game with out a steering wheel anywayz!

sega rally REVO,im starting to think sega is going to make games for everyone else, but use the name REVO in most of there titles, just to stick to the sony and xbox fan boys, and too be honest the name Wii is a joke
just to build up steam for NINTENDO to e3,and yeah its a fraking good one
never expected that from NINTENDO

A next gen hang-on would be sweet. Not so much the sim like other cycle racers but the get on and go arcade type is what i want. Daytona would be so cool over live. I have the DC ver and for a short time it was the best when played online. Can't find nobody to play with anymore sniff sniff..

Bottom line, Sega made the best arcade style racing, flying, driving games. Namco was good but Sega is better. Take R360 for a spin sometime. Arcades need to make a comeback damn it!

Sega has always been a supporter of Nintendo - so while the initial announcement is for 360 and delay-station 3, I'm betting Wii will be added to that list in the coming months.

I'm so glad companies like Sega are bringing back these titles to a new generation, because if I see another WWII game, I'll go mad!

Sega could call it Sega Rally revolution seeing as Nintendo isn't using that name anymore. Saturn and DC versions of those games rocked! There is already a new afterburner in the console works. Planet harriers was the sequal to space harrier and was supposed to come to the DC but was canned. I want to see a new thunderblade or galaxy force. One of the first DC games in developement which was canned was called Giest Force. Do a look up on that game and you will see it is sort of an update to galaxy force. Bernie Stolar was responsible for canning it just before he got canned.

SEGA!
