Lumines 2 falling into place?

Word on sequel to Mizuguchi's PSP puzzler comes from Sony's PSUnderground pre-E3 promo video.

For many early adopters of the PSP, the game that left thumbs aching was Ubisoft's Lumines, from acclaimed game developer Tetsuya Mizuguchi. Lumines was lauded by critics for its dazzling display of colors in tandem with challenging gameplay, but little has been heard about the franchise since.

Today, however, word came from an unlikely source. On Sony's Web site, a video teasing gamers of what to expect from Sony's exclusive look at its own E3 presence lists a bunch of games that attendees can expect to see at the convention.

Cohost Steve Truitt hypes up the PSP, before saying that Lumines 2 will be at the convention, in addition to previously announced titles like LocoRoco, Gangs of London, and Lemmings.

Though there has been no official announcement about a sequel to Lumines, it's likely one is in the works, as the promo video was an official Sony production.

Given that nearly no good games exist on psp except puzzle games, I guess it's good news.

The first one was one of the best game on PSP that kept it from dusting when I play my DS (which I take out with me much more often due to it's more impressive library of games). Finally another must have title for my PSP. I'll wait for the review though as whether to see if it has much more to offer than the original. If not then Ill just stick to the original and get the Metal Slug 6 game as well.

This is off topic but... I hope they release a demo of Every Extend Extra. I'm more excited about that game than Lumines 2. (unless they release some more details on how Lumines 2 will be different from the first. I have a feeling it will end up like DDR and Tetris, adding different music and keeping the same puzzle play. I hope I'm wrong)

yeah i really like lumines and having a sequel will be sweet but i still havn't completed EVERYTHING in the first one. But of coures lumines is like a DDR...there could be 20 more sequels and people are still going to love it. I just hope for different modes and better songs

Man, are you guys ever happy? Every time there is a bad game released for PSP, you all have negative comments. Every time there is a port there is negative comments. But what I don't understand is that when a GOOD sounding game gets announced or released, you guys STILL have negative comments.
