E3 06: NCsoft reveals E3 lineup
MMORPG specialist is first publisher to announce games for May's game expo; Tabula Rasa, new Guild Wars campaign headline.
As members of the industry prepare for their annual pilgrimage to Los Angeles by packing aspirin, earplugs, and homemade hangover cures, game publishers are readying their games for show at this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo. NCsoft is the first publisher to reveal which of its wares will appear at the Los Angeles Convention Center May 10 to 12.
The sci-fi-centric Tabula Rasa, from NCsoft's Austin, Texas studio, headed up by Richard Garriott, will be on the show floor. The PC game is currently scheduled to be released later this year.
Also making an appearance will be the next chapter in ArenaNet's Guild Wars franchise, though it will only be shown behind closed doors. The recently released Guild Wars Factions, on the other hand, will be playable by attendees.
Rounding out the games shown on the exhibition-hall's floor is a trio of titles. NCsoft has high hopes for Aion, an MMORPG set for release later this year in Korea, and will be showing the latest build of the PC game. Dungeon Runners, a fantasy-based MMOG, and Exteel, an online game featuring fighting robots, will also be on display.
GameSpot will bring more info from NCsoft at this year's E3 next month.
