Rayman returns

Michel Ancel once again directs development for his disincorporated hero; multiconsole release set for later this year.

Proving once again that you can't keep a good...thing...down, Ubisoft has announced that its colorful armless and legless mascot Rayman is returning for a fourth installment. The game is currently under development at Ubisoft's Montpellier studio, and is scheduled for release on current- and next-generation consoles.

While Rayman creator Michel Ancel has been busy in recent years working on games like Beyond Good & Evil and Peter Jackson's King Kong: The Official Game of the Movie, he is returning to the platforming hero he helped create for a fourth go-round. The third Rayman adventure, Hoodlum Havoc, was released on multiple systems in 2003.

No details about the gameplay are available yet, but the game is expected to ship this coming holiday season.

Their direction is already screwed up! Common, it's Rayman 4! What direction could possibly make this a good game? The only answer here is to scrap the project completely...THAT'S IT, I'm starting a hate site dedicated to the downfall of Rayman!!!

Rayman 4? Rayman should never have been created. I didn't think that the first warranted a second...yet, here we are with the 4th installment...no wonder the suicide rate is climbing...

I hope Rayman does not talk English in this next game. What was endearing about Rayman 2 was how he spoke, as if he had his own language. In Rayman 3 all of the character acting were annoying.

Rayman is amazing.
Even the ones that get horrid ratings are pretty fun.

Rayman?!? Nooo, I wanted a sequel for BG&E. Not we're gonna have to wait for him to finish this up before that becomes a possibility again...

How about ... NO MORE sequels, movie-to-game adaptions, and fourth installments!? Now, how about something original and fresh? Beyond Good and Evil was AWESOME btw. I don't think it needs a sequel even if the ending hinted for continuation. Psychonaughts which I havent had the pleasure of play'n yet is another original adventure/action game that everyone thinks is awesome. Anyways, keep pushing the envelope, i say.

honestly i have never owned one of his games but i played their demos and they werent half bad, but i know they were popular so it can only help the ps3 mainly, in my opinion, as most of his followers are strong supporters of sony

Back when I was a wee lad I would play Rayman on my Windows 95 and I loved every second. Rayman 2 for the N64 was another wonder in game design. Unfortuenately Rayman 3 was nowhere near as magical, hears hoping Rayman 4 can return the series to its former glory.
