Taste of GRAW now available

[UPDATE] Long-awaited demo of Ubisoft's next-gen Ghost Recon for Xbox 360 finally deployed; multiplayer demo features Boneyard map.

Posted Mar 30, 2006 12:04 pm PT

The Ghost Recon series from Ubisoft teaches gamers a thing or two about patience. Rather than the run-and-gun style of most war games, the franchise places an emphasis on tactics, and can result in gamers waiting patiently and silently in the brush to try to get the perfect shot.

However, gamers have been neither patient nor silent since Ubisoft tantalized them with the announcement that an Xbox 360 demo of Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter was coming soon. Across the Web, Xbox 360 owners have vocally pleaded for the file so they can get their GRAW on. Ubisoft has announced that those waiting for the demo will finally be able to pull the trigger, as it will be available today for free on Xbox Live Marketplace.

The multiplayer sampling of the popular game, which was released on March 9, features one map, the military junkyard known as the Boneyard. There won't be any cooperative modes in the demo, but all multiplayer competitive modes will be available and up to 16 players can play at once.

A demo for one of the game's biggest competitors in retail, Battlefield 2: Modern Combat, just went live yesterday. BF2:MC is set for release in April.

[UPDATE] The demo is now up and ready for download from Xbox Live Marketplace.

Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advance Warfighter is rated T for Teen and retails for $59.99. For more information on the game, read GameSpot's review.

I don't consider this one multiplayer level doing this game justice just buy the damn thing go crazy in the single player then have some fun later on in the multiplayer.

man - they picked the only map I don't like for the DEMO. Oh well, hopefully prospective buyers can see past that.

Bit late but I guess it's good for people who weren't too sure about the whole squad based aspect of the game, oh wait it's the multiplayer part, bah >.<

I got the game and damn it was great.

Why couldn't the demo come out before the game did? Doesn't that make more sense or is it just me?

What do you mean it's too late? If everybody already has the game then that's great. But that's not the case, there are alwase poeple without it, so a demo can never be too late.

Just like with most video game magazine's, it's too late to deliver a demo for a hit game. Everyone has it !!! To little, too late.

Already have it, a little late for a demo but it might push some potential buyers over the fence.

Why the hell would you not have this game already if you own a 360? This game is really, really good. It deserves the rating it got on Gamespot.

man first EA makes shiatty games and now Ubi is slowly ignoring the PC market. Maybe Ill give up games and learn to sew.

everyone says they beat it and are tired of it, the original GR on live is still being played by alot, maybe you guys should try it online.
