EA demos two more Xbox 360 games

Try-before-you-buy model now available for Burnout Revenge, coming later this week for Battlefield 2: Modern Combat.

Next-gen gamers on a budget have been able to breathe a temporary sigh of relief thanks to several Xbox 360 demos that have been free to download through the Xbox Live Marketplace. Demos are coming out almost weekly, giving potential consumers a chance to sample portions of games before dropping up to $60 on a game.

This week, a pair of demos from Electronic Arts hits the Xbox Live Marketplace, giving gamers a chance to try out next-gen versions of some games already released on current-gen consoles.

A taste of Burnout Revenge, which was released earlier this month, is now available for download. The Xbox 360 version differs from its current-gen counterparts in its new online features and the ability to record clips of the game's excessive car crashes. For more information on Burnout Revenge, check out GameSpot's review.

EA is also giving first-person shooter fans a free peek at another game from its library. A demo for Battlefield 2: Modern Combat is scheduled for release on March 24, according to the game's official Web site. The demo will also feature the largest multiplayer support to date for the system, with 24 players able to play in the same game.

Battlefield 2: Modern Combat, which is rated T for Teen, is scheduled for release on April 11. Burnout Revenge was released on March 7 and is rated E10+ for Everyone Ten and Older. Both games are priced at $59.99.

Seriously people without xbox live have no idea what they are missing out on. This is seriously the greatest thing ever. The burnout demo was pretty friggin crazy I never played the original, but now I'm definetly going to buy the official game the graphics are amazing the racing is chaotic and fun what more can you really ask for.

I seriously can't wait to see bf2 thats going to be so incredible on the 360.

    skemaal-

You just need broadband access to the internet and a Live silver account. The xbox live silver account is free, you don't need gold to download demos. You will need a gold account if you want to play against other's online (though online demos may still work with just a silver account, but I'm not sure about that)

What kind of online service do you need from MS to download demos? Anyone who has access to the the internet and XBL or an XBL GOLD or whaever that you need to pay for. Sorry for my nOObness, in that area, just not familiar with this part of the XB service.

How about MS mandate that a demo be made available for every game? That'd be awesome.

As much as I hate EA (I really do), Burnout Revenge is a good time. Their effort in making demos available in a timely manner for those on the fence is a good thing and I gotta commend them for that.

Demo's on LIVE is one of the best ideas I have ever run across for a console. You dont hafto beg for them from your local gamestore which usually doesn't have any demos because of all the employees taking them all. Plus you don't even hafto leave your armchair!! If Sony is smart they will definitely steal this idea.

The awesomeness of xbox live on the 360. though the burnout demo is not very long or deep, but there is a mistake there, 32 players on PDZ.
