BF2 Booster Pack dated...again

Euro Force ready to roll out next week after delays; booster pack will be downloadable from EA for $9.99.
By Tim Surette, GameSpot
Posted Mar 8, 2006 4:00 pm PT

Gamers desperately awaiting new troops in Electronic Arts' Battlefield 2 will finally get their wish. The military shooter was supposed to get reinforcements in the form of its first booster pack last month, but issues with the game's v1.2 patch forced the publisher to hold off on the add-on's release.

Now, soldiers holding steady for more troops and content can begin marking their calendars. The Battlefield 2: Euro Force booster pack has been given a new release date of March 15. The pack will be available from the EA Downloader, the publisher's digital distribution service, for $9.99.

Those who buy the pack can look forward to new vehicles, weapons, and maps. Battlefield 2: Euro Force is rated T for Teen. For more information, head to the game's official Web site.

It might be worth it if it's not buggy. SF add on is a buggy mess that crashes my pc every time I play it. I love the gameplay but why does EA get away with not fixing this pathetic add on. I wish I could get a refund from EA since their game will not play on my pc worth a darn. But BF2 the original plays fine. Go figure.

I love all things BF2 but bugs are not one of them. You give me 100's of bug free levels and I'll buy them all.

you know what... i think i spend too much money on gaming... i was just now thinking ten bucks hey that is not bad i will pick it up... and then i thought.. wait a second... i have bought two hidef tvs just to play games on computer and console. i upgrade my pc all the time... and i spend about 200 bucks a week on games... when is it going to end... if i had not been spending more than 400 bucks a month the last ten years on games and gaming equipment and service fees and what not... that would be 48000 dollars i could have saved and blown on something else...
maybe i should look at something else to start wasting my money on... like a house or something...

I've been following the game since the start, the patches and the packs.

Special Forces was a good idea, but lacks the performance that I am willing to play with. (I run a 3500+, 7800GT 256mb and 2gb of RAM)

As is, there are only ~600 Special Forces servers, and about 90% of them are not populated...compared to almost 6000 servers in vanilla BF2 which are almost always full.

EuroForce will bring in the fools that feel like paying 10$ for something a very limited number of people will be playing.

If you want something new, are willing to wait, and will give you a better gaming experience overall, visit www.pointofexistence.com and download POE2 when it is released later this year. Amazing mod, truly the best of the best.

Don't hand EA over another 10$ for something that never required any real effort into building it, rather help out the BF2 communities i.e. www.totalbf2.com.

PEACE

i wont buy i'm still pissed about how much they **** up patch 1.2 and the major issues aren't going to be fixed in 1.21 so EF will be bugs all over the place(want c4 chucking back was just plain fun and faster gameplay again not this **** up 2-4 secs waiting before being able to stand up again)

Maybe it will actually be a finished product, unlike BF2 Special Forces.

The point that most people are trying to make is that if EA sells the two upcoming mini expansions for $10 each, then it'll start a landslide of small, almost patch-like expansions, also turning the search for a good server on the impossible side. When you have two or three BIG expansions it tends to be over a few years, evenly spacing it so everyone can get the new stuff. However, if there is a big expansion (if you can call SF that....and some peeps still dont have it like me lol) and around 6 mini expansions, the people who want to pick up BF2 down the line will have to buy EVERY SINGLE ONE of those annoying little downloadable packs. Not to mention the fact that some people could get kicked out of a good server the minute it switches to a map they don't have. Overall, this could turn into a FPSMMOG with monthly payments for "content."

most of the stuff in the pack seems to be infantry based. Sure, there are new vehicles, but they'll be counterparts so not to imbalance things. Looks like the thing that seemed to get more attention were the infantry units. Each one has a new weapon? Funny stuff though, you can unlock all those new weapons in the normal game apparently. I'm grabbing that british sniper rifle, if that is the case (haven't gotten a rank to check this yet).

Great price for a decent-sized expansion pack and new maps. I'll gladly pay the measly $10...it's embarassing how cheap some of my fellow gamers are.

... Its ten bucks. Damn you people are whiners. If you really want new (official) content then thats not a bad price. I really wouldn't be posting "OMG 10 BUCKS IS BS!" because well, thats just sad if thats too much for you.

ANYWAYS -
New stuff! Wee!

$10 is a great idea for extra content considering we're not being raped like WOW players for a $15 a month fee to play the game.

This might actually be worth buying if the maps were any good. Re-using the same old tired buildings, objects etc, talk about lazy. The screenshots of the 'Operation Smoke Screen' map are pitiful. I'd much rather have a xpack that added things like weather effects and a day/night cycle. Oh well, i guess thats what quake wars is for.

$10 here $10 there plus buying games and upgrading hardware every 6 months. that start to get expansive.
even xbox 360 is about to do the same thing .
$5 or $10 might not look a lot but buy the end of the year you would have spent
over $100 on upgrading your games only.

I love it when the devs charge $10 for somthing that is easily modded in (without most bugs mind you) by modders.

You get what.... a few maps, some new vehicles, mabey a new gun, for $10? No thanks, thats what mods are for. They are made with PASSION not MONEY and are actually free.

This isnt worth the money unless it truely adds innovative features to ALL of these that cannot be done in a mod. Which it probibly wont, knowing EA.
