Fils-Aime: Zelda now coming in "fall"

Nintendo EVP lets slip on SpikeTV's Game Head that Twilight Princess has been delayed again; dodges questions about special Revolution features.

Now, it appears Link won't be donning his green cap until even later than we thought. In the latest edition of SpikeTV's new Game Head program, host and veteran game journalist Geoff Keighley interviewed Nintendo of America Executive Vice President Reggie Fils-Aime.

After an introductory segment which showed Keighley and Fils-Aime being serenaded by a troubadour in Mario drag while racing Mario Kart-esque go-karts, the pair got down to business. Keighley asked Fils-Aime directly what is going on with Twilight Princess. Without missing a beat, the outspoken executive confirmed that the game was missing its current Q2 2006 window.

"It's coming out in the fall, it's coming out on GameCube," said Fils-Aime. "There's been a lot of speculation. People have been saying that we're holding it back or that it's gonna be launched just on Revolution. Tell your people 'Not true,' it's gonna be out on GameCube, it's gonna be out in the fall."

Addressing recent rumors, Keighley asked Fils-Aime if Twilight Princess would have special features that could be accessed only when it was played on the backward-compatible Revolution. When Keighley asked if the Revolution's motion-sensing controller could be used to control link's sword in the game, Fils-Aime demurred. "It's a great idea," he said. "You should talk to [Zelda creator Shigeru] Miyamoto about it. But right now the focus is on GameCube."

    I think it's better then never coming out, but it would be great if the gamecube version of zelda being played on the wii could also have that motion sensor stuff

    OMG... y are they goign to release it at the same time as the Revo. dont they realize that GC will end up dying if they dont release it soon.. crap nintendo! get ur stuff together.

    I think its a good idea to wait a little longer so the graphics, and everything else will be alot better and they will make another great game. Like Orcarina of Time and Majora's Mask : )

    I am glad that they are taking extra time to finish this game. I would rather not have it until the fall if it means it will be a higher quality game.

    I have many expectations for Nintendo for delaying tp. First it better have at least 10 temples. Second it better have a lot of sword combinations. Not for Rev because you are controlling the sword. Third the Graphics better be incredible. Fourth it better be easy to control Link and Epona and his other items. Five it just has to surpass the amazing Orcarina of Time. Also it better be 1000% perfect and that would be about it.

    I bout Game Cube just to play this imperticular game. " Zelda twilight princess" and now finding out that Iv got to weit another six months dosen't make me feel any better. This sux so much....

    Well it is going to be one amazing game. Maybe the best of them all if Nintendo does work hard enough on it with better grhpic more items, levels and much more. Also it is coming with rev features making it even better

    Maybe some people want to kill their selves over this but it is a good sign that the game is getting better and you'll thank Nintendo for delaying it because of the awesome stuff in it that was only in it because of the delay's extra time they have to add stuff. Trust me this will be a game that will be as remembered like Ocarina of Time.

    Well Nintendo never said it was coming out in march they just said after Q1. PS3 aint gonna sell its gonna be to expensive and i mean come on its sony...sony sucks. microsoft made a good system but was not able to get enough systems made. Nintendo has nothing to worry about. Zelda will come out and will be the best game ever made just like oot was then. i will not be upset unless they cancel but i mean its Nintendo...Nintendo is the best game developer and home console maker as well as handheld maker. they have no compatition. PS3 not gonna cut it, microsoft...same as xbox only more spazazy, plus they don't have a great fan following in japan...but Nintendo is the best in japan, europe and america. Plus Nintendo has the DS and GBA...they have only themselves to compete with...ha psp can't do anything it sucks so bad its almost laughable to think they wanted to compete with the Big N...Well ill be happy with the new nintendo system codenamed: revolution and ill be happy with the best game of all time...boy its nice to have nintendo in the gaming market...if we didn't we'd end up having a bunch of computers...thats what microsoft and sony want to do... i wish i could c their faces when they r told their system got surpassed by Nintendo

    I found an old video game magazine in my papers the other day and it was talking about the neverending delay for Zelda Ocarina of Time. The article was basically saying that everyone was sick of waiting and that this looked bas for Nintendo. But we all know that they managed to pull arguably the best Zelda up to date. Let's hope that history repeats itself with Twilight Princess...

    I'm waiting for the moment when Nintendo releases the news that the Gamecube *is an attachment to the Revolution. To play Zelda (or any of your favorite cube games) just attach the Gamecube onto the side - click - and you're good to go. With the two combined machines the Zeldanis will be overpowering. Jaws will drop, minds will be blown, and eyes will burst. Quite frankly the game is ready... but is the player?

    Fall?....c'mon!.............Enough waitin'!!!!!. At leat is comming out, the last thing i want is that Nintendo change their minds and say "for 2007"...
    I'm been waintin' this game since last year...and the waitin' has been quite long...when is gonna end? uhmmmmmmmmmm.....q raro......

    Mark my words folks, this will be a x-mas release title. No way is it going to release in the fall. Nintendo has to milk the last bit it can out of the Gamecube and the only thing that will help them sell through inventories of Gamecubes is a x-mas bundle with Twilight Princess. Better find something else to play for those extra few months...

    And so I wait longer, for a game that seems to be perpetually late.. At least it is a Cube game, that is an added plus. The next question is what the hell are they doing to this game for it to be continually set back, again and again....

    What wows me is your spelling! You would think that people would use the check spelling button...
    And you should know zelda was responisble for over half the gaming universe.
    It inspired many fantasy games so it wouldn't hurt to at least respect the game and nintendo for what it has contributed to the gaming world.

    omg how did wind waker almost "wow" u? wind waker was one of the worst zelda games!!! i thought it was fun, but ocarina of time, majora's mask, heck, even the first zelda made was better than wind waker. From what i hear, its gonna be about Ocrarina of time and if so, please delay it as much nessisary because ocarina was the best zelda game ever. if its gonna be about it or a sequel, it better be good enough to be one or even worth delaying this much. i dont get y every1 complains that it's being delayed. there are other great ( and i mean GREAT) games out for gamecube that you could play while waiting. One i would suggest is Tales of Symphonia. great game.GREAT game. i got it when it first came out, beat it 27 times, and i'm still playing and still haven't found and done everything. and i still love it. its my favorite game of all time. so stop whining, get tales of Symphonia if you don't, (if you do, good for you) and just deal with Zelda:TP being delayed. Hopefully it will all be worth it.
