Tecmo on board with Revolution

Ninja Gaiden publisher readying Pangya golf game for console's launch, Monster Farm Online for PC.

TOKYO--Japanese publisher Tecmo held a press conference in Tokyo today and announced that it will support Nintendo's next-generation Revolution console. The company's first project will be a Revolution version of Korean publisher Ntreev Soft's Pangya golf series, which will be codeveloped by the two companies. The game is tentatively named Sukatto Golf Pangya Revolution, and it is slated for simultaneous release with the console's launch, which is widely believed to be later this year.

Pangya, better known as Albatross 18: Realms of Pangya in English, was originally an online-only title created by Ntreev Soft for the PC. Pangya on the PC does not feature a monthly subscription fee, instead deriving its revenue from micropayments, as players pay to acquire new and improved in-game items. Tecmo hasn't disclosed any details on the Revolution version, but it may well turn out to be one of the first games on the console to feature network support.

Tecmo also announced during its press conference that an online PC version of Monster Farm is currently under development and should debut by the end of the year. The game is tentatively named Monster Farm Online, and it will be Tecmo's second online title for the PC. Monster Farm Online will be developed by Tecmo and operated by Gamepot, the company that manages Pangya's operations in Japan. Like Pangya, Monster Farm Online will also rely on micropayments to generate revenue from players.

YES! Finally Albatross18 on something other than PC! Swinging with the Wiimote might be hard, though - and I miss enough with the mouse. *cries*

On a side note, though - will it connect and play live with PangYa/Alba18? I saw Alin, the new Season 2 character, and... was that supposed to be Kasumi in the very last shot?

[EDIT] Oh, and don't forget that Albatross18 has been here for some time now, so it's got at least SOME following here.

hey mezonesxbox, if Rev suxs (?) then y don't you just go back to your geeky micro$haft newspages... answer: because it can be summed up thusly - "more of the same meets more of the same. the outlook... bill gates get richer, and more of the same. hehe loser.

If that were a screenshot for the Revolution they would have said that considering there are no real screenshots even out yet for the Rev. Other than Metroid Prime 3, if those are real screenshots that is.

Ya know, if you think about it, both the DS and Revolution would be an excellent platform choice for a DOA X Volleyball game. Both systems would allow for an incredible amount of ... er... interaction with the girls.

Keep the comments on the subject. Laptopcrapwhatever you sent me private messages since you are afraid of having everyone examine them. Kameo is a disappointment. So is the 360. 500 dollar system and everyone is excited by an arcade game over a decade old and that has been put on several game consoles already.

Damn you Xbox fanboys and Sony fanboys need to chill out. Quit being such losers taking shots at the Revolution. It will do things no one could have done before, that's more then can be said for the rest of the competition...

Can't they make a decent game for Rev or are they gonna make sh$tty games since it's not xbox or sony?

Well, this is cutesy Nintendo we are talking about. And since they've said they are not supporting HD graphics, I wouldn't be surprised if that is a true screen shot. I'm not sure the graphics will be that much better on the revolution. It looks like they are going after more innovative play mechanics with their new controller, than they are pretty games. Kind of the DS approach to consoles.

that's an old PC game. Yes the Rev can get much better graphics than that.

Well it's a golf series that has never come to america before. And the Revolution controller could be a very interesting way to play a golf game. More natural feeling.

are you people retarded..that is not a actual rev screenshot..only a handful of people if any have received there developement kits for the rev..therefore it is the pc version....NINTENDO is being ultra secretive..you think they would let any game screenshots fly like that..helllll nooo they wouldnt ...use your friggin brains for once....dammm...nintendos first party title will most likely be the first actual rev screenshots we get to see..also some people r making rev games without a rev dev kit..they r making basically a pc game and keeping in mind what they thinkthe controller will do with said game ..etc..
so for one nobody even really has much of a rev game made besides nintendo at this point to where we can can thats running on a rev system..for one nobody other then nintendo actually has the console and its dev kit at this point in time..they dont want there technology leaked or even take the chance of that happening..who knows there may just be some of nintendos first party companies or maybe a handful of third party companies nintendo trust enough to have these things in secret..but as of now developers r more or less specualting the possibilities as much as we r...only differance is many of them got to use the friggin thing..so those screenshots r a few years old and its for the pc...and most likely that perticular game that the screenshot is of wont be much differant then that in terms of the character designs and cartoony graphics..however the revs graphics should be updated exponentially..
this is at least a few years old...and its for the pc...so jumping to conclusions is just rediculous..rev wont have worse graphics then the cube and even the graphic cards developer stated its comperable to the other next gen systems..i think they would know this because they also made the ps3's gpu...only differance is nintendos operates differantly..and nintendos was built from scratch...it isnt a mimic of a pc's gpu unit...so go nintendo..

Well as much as I not likeing Tecmo's gimmick of bouncing boobs, more support by well known company for Revolution = faith in new controller. This could turn out interesting... Wouldn't mind Ninja Gaiden but oh well (DOA series can just die for all I care as Vitua Fighters is 100X better). Those are PC version screen shot people... The Rev based on what is known is likely 2-3 times more powerful than Gamecube which is no slouch if people realise how powerful the Gamecube was in graphical capabilities. Obviously the point here is to suggest that Revolution is getting more third party support as we speak. Nintendo are obviously doing something right to attract these third party developers' attention. I can't wait to see what they have to show us at E3.

  • Cypher_187

    Posted Feb 15, 2006 5:44 pm PT

To whoever thinks that is a Rev screenshot:
Do you seriously think Nintendo would let a small third party developer show the first in game Rev pic? Obviously not. It is the PC shot that you are seeing there, as they made the game for the PC in the first place. Get it together.

  • SinisterC

    Posted Feb 15, 2006 5:35 pm PT

Albatross 18/Pangya is a great game, I love playing it on the PC. Not sure why I would get the Revolution version though, unless it has a single player campaign a la Mario Golf Advanced. Even if those are Revolution screenshots, it's still just a port, so not representative of the system's power.

  • joeamis

    Posted Feb 15, 2006 5:21 pm PT

Hellllo those are pics from the PC version, however the REV graphics may look similar seeing as the company is more focused on gameplay than graphics (they could've made the graphics a lot better on the PC...). Anyways I'm excited because I envision them making full use of the REV controller, so I can stand and hit like in real golf.
