Full Auto smashes retail

Sega's Xbox 360 metropolitan demolition derby ships; free Full Auto-themed limited-edition Xbox 360 faceplate at select retailers.

Though the Xbox 360 hasn't seen many new full retail games in stores since its launch in late November (Dead or Alive 4 was released in late December), the latest game will no doubt be smashing. Sega's Full Auto, from developer Pseudo Interactive, shipped to stores today, says the publisher. The game is rated T for Teen and retails for $59.99.

In the game, players get behind the wheel of cars and race through cities in an attempt to cross the finish line before their opponents. The catch? Each car is outfitted with a menagerie of weapons. Not enough of a catch? The environment is fully destructible. Still not enough of a catch? Drivers can use the game's "unwreck" feature, allowing them to rewind a portion of time and race part of a track again.

The game features both single-player and multiplayer modes. The single-player mode has 80 different "events," and split-screen and Xbox Live modes allow up to 8 players to compete in different race types. In the game, there are 18 tracks to destroy, eight different weapon types to fire at enemies, and 21 vehicles to drive and wreck.

To find out if Full Auto is worthy of pole position or is just a wreck waiting to happen, check back soon for GameSpot's review. In the meantime, take the game for a spin by downloading the demo from Xbox Live or check out previous coverage.

I know this isn't a totally original game..but it is a break from FPS, WWII, Sports games. But if we gamers want see more innovative games being developed I suggest you go out and show our support. I admit I was one of the people who cried for more creative games (Pyschonauts, Destroy All Humans, and Oddworld) but never purchase any of them. Time to start putting my money where my mouth is, I'm picking my copy up this weekend. It's "put up or shut up" time!

i thought the demo was sweet (other than the fact that you get booted out of it and have to restart the demo after you race once)........... i won't be paying $60 for this game though. maybe when it's $30 or $40.......

Game Rankings has it at 71% with 10 publications reporting.
That's a shame. Thought the concept is good, perhaps the sequel will do better.

From what I understand, the demo was not as cool as the game. The thing is, the demo is cool, so the game must be awesome.

The demo really soured me on this game as well. And don't say "It's only a demo. You shouldn't judge a game based on a demo." because the whole purpose of a demo is to make you want more bad enough to go buy the game, which this game obviously didn't.

I didn't like the demo too much and paying $60 for a game that feels like a budget $20 game with beefed up graphics doesn't sound "Fun". I will wait for The Outfit, Final Fantasy XI, or Saint's Row.

I was really excited for this game until I played the demo. I was surprised how it was instantly boring. I'm still going to rent it, but at least I have Burnout Revenge to look forward to!

At least half of you guys like it. I want this game to be somewhat successful as the concept is great.

The demo seemed pretty bland. Then I read some reviews which support my initial impression. It's quite sad. I was looking forward to this being a good game.

I wasn't impressed with the demo.

It doesn't say much for a game when you can already think of 3 racing games you'd rather own than owning it.

    (PGR, NFS, and Burnout Revenge)

I live in holland and got the game since Saturday eve,i dont like racing games but i do love this one,Fullauto is an amazing game if you ask me,what ever OXM said to everyone(after playing it for 1 hour it got soooo dull) YEAH RIGHT!!!!! i played it for like 10 hours straight and i didnt get bored 1 little bit, there's sooooo damn much to blow up,so much going on at your screen at once its just like totally amazing(Alright i'll say one thing thats a little bit less about the game) its framerate its not that good, but thats only when like 10 buildings collapse at the same time, seeing through that little thing make's Fullauto far more one of the Way better games iv ever played,Online is amazing its just so much fun,(OXM I SAY KISS MY DUTCH ASS U DONT KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT HOW 2 REVIEW A GOOD GAME!)
    I bet OXM gonna give Burnout Revenge360,Gears Of war,Unreal2007,Resident Evil5,Battlefield2 like a 5,5 ????? well if i should rate Fullauto this game definately deserves(from 1 to 10) a big 8,7!
