Golden hour strikes for 24: The Game
Jack Bauer's first PlayStation 2 mission given the go-ahead, will be in stores in February.
Already caught up in the midst of another hectic day on television, antiterrorist agent Jack Bauer will soon be battling foes in games. 2K Games announced today that 24: The Game, which is based on the popular Fox television show, 24, has gone gold for a "February" release date. Exclusive to the PlayStation 2, the game retails for $39.99 and is rated M for Mature.
The game's M rating shouldn't come as a surprise to viewers of the show 24, which contains a whole season of harrowing action packed into a 24-hour storyline. The game will be set between the events of the second and third seasons of the show, in the wake of the attempted assassination of President David Palmer, played in the game and on TV by Dennis Haysbert. The game will also feature the likenesses and voices of Kiefer Sutherland as the heroic--and often brutal--Bauer, Elisha Cuthbert as his daughter, and Carlos Bernard as Tony Almeda, one of Bauer's fellow agents at the Counter-Terrorist Unit (CTU).
The game was developed at SCEE's Cambridge Studio, creator of Primal and last year's Ghosthunter. The third-person shooter will feature 100 missions, including on-foot shoot-outs and high-speed vehicular pursuits. It will also sport stealth missions, interrogation challenges, and puzzles in the form of decoding various bits of intelligence.
