Time Crisis 4 hitting Japanese arcades

Namco's new Time Crisis to run on new board; beta test starting this weekend.

Namco has announced it is currently developing Time Crisis 4 for arcades. The game is slated to launch in June in Japan, and it will begin beta testing this weekend in Tokyo.

To date, Namco's Time Crisis series have featured light-gun shooting action with the aid of a foot pedal, which can be pushed to avoid enemy shots and to reload ammo. In addition to the traditional system, Time Crisis 4 will feature larger levels, and players will be able to scroll the screen by pointing the gun at arrows located on the sides of the screen.

Time Crisis 4 will also run on Namco's new arcade board, called the System Super 256. The board will support richer graphics, allowing more enemies to be displayed on the screen at once. Time Crisis 4's cabinet also features a speaker dedicated to character voices, which will offer the player tips throughout the game.

I got a TC4 tournament or something coming to one of the malls near me. I don't know when the arcade is getting it. But it looks like they will.

    @Attitude
You mean arcade ports died on Consoles ^_-

Anyways it seems to take that multi viewing thing
    from Time Crisis: Project Titan.
It actually felt awkward in TCT.
Hopefully it would be improved in TC4.

I would love to see TC4 come to America. I have a TC3 machine near me where I live and I put up to $5 into that machine every weekend.

I myself live and japan and will be the first to say that the arcades are huge here, they play some games in ways that i would have never thought to be done. Cant wait to see the time Crisis four im sure it will be just as fun as the others.

Light gun games are always better at arcades even if you have friends over all the time.Maybe because of replay value.

If anything, the game is going to be harder then previous Time Crisis games.

I hope the "Time" in Time Crisis plays more into this latest version. I love that concept in the original Time Crisis where if the time ran out, the game was over. It made me have that sense of urgency to rescue the hostage before it was too late. Time Crisis 2 and 3 lost some of that charm due to the reseting time in each scene.

Xanog, this game isn't coming the United States. I can almost guarentee that. There is a 1% chance of that happening. Arcades are dead in the US. Sans DDR, but even that is decreasing in popularity, thanks to home consoles.

You can look forward to a possible Playstation 3 or Playstation 2 release, though.

    Nth! . . . oh, I mean. . . At least arcades are still big somewhere. . .

i really dont think they have arcades in america any more, last time i was in a real arcade was in the ninties. The ones by me got closed down because idiots were acting like jerks, making bets, fighting the whole nine yards. Japan is really where the arcade scene is.

i have not been to a good arcade in about ten years.... does such a thing still exist in america?

I thought you had to let go of the pedal to hide from the bullets and stuff. o_0

Anyway, Time Crisis is cool, but the arrow-scrolling doesn't sound like such a good idea. Guess we'll just have to wait and see.

... because there the ones that produce/make/develop the game.
And it isn't always the case, Konami and Capcom have been known to release Japanese Produced games (Resident Evil, Metal Gear Solid, Silent Hill to name a few) in other countries first.
Also i thinkin arcades are bigger in japan then anywhere else arn't they?

That screen scrolling feature sounds like it will make the game slower

I hope it comes to american arcades... why does Japan have to have everything first
