Runestone plants Seed

Combat-free sci-fi MMORPG starts beta sign-ups next month, full game planned to go live in April.

Danish studio Runestone Game Development announced today that its upcoming massively multiplayer online role-playing game Seed is shaping up for an April release. To prepare for the launch, players will be able to sign up for the beta-testing period at the game's official Web site starting January 9. The beta period is set to begin February 1.

A departure from standard MMORPGs, Seed has eliminated combat from the player experience entirely. Set in the far future on a distant planet, players will have to work together to shape the gameworld as they see fit.

Sounds different, but fun. No combat will be hard to get used to, but I like the style of the game. It really reminds me of that comic book shooter, XIII, which had a really awesome style. Can't wait to see it in action and give it a try.

Visited the website. It looks interesting, if they do it right. The graphics are pretty good for a mmorpg and it seems to have some style. The UI is pretty minimal as well, which I like. This may be something to look into.

Sounds interesting, altough I HATE comic book graphics. Ohwell, i'll try it out but without combat (and with that crappy homepage) it doesnt sound or look to great.

WOW, shape the game world..... SOUNDS AWESOME. Although, I really like combat...... If they do it right, it could be good. But, am I gonna put Perfect Dark down for it...... probably not.
