Kojima Productions planning new PSP game

Metal Gear Solid Acid 2 director to lead up new project from Hideo Kojima's development studio.

Hideo Kojima's development team at Konami is working on a new game project for the PSP. The father of the Metal Gear series recently disclosed through an entry in his official Japanese blog that he and five other staffers have met up to discuss a new game for the Sony handheld. While the project is still in the planning stages and Kojima didn't get into the details, he did reveal that it will be directed and produced by Shinta Nojiri, director for Metal Gear Acid 2. Kojima doesn't clearly state if he will participate as a core member of the project, but he will almost certainly give his input to the development team.

"It seems alright as a project plan," Kojima wrote. "The issue is, it will feature a completely new system, so we need to learn if it'll be accepted [by gamers]. We'll have to make a prototype and have it play-tested. It'll play with a system that's different from traditional games. That'll be its selling point. Will it be accepted, or will it be rejected? We're going to see how it goes."

    i hope i can get my monies worth i had purchased MGSA for the PSP and for god sake i had no interest in what so ever. company franchises need to stick to games that they usually have been making not changing them to a strategic/card game involving solid snake. look at nintendo they make the same games over and over its like history repeats itself but hey us fnaboys and gamers never have complain about there games. ha take that.

    Actuly they could still make an innovative title to the people who don't like metal gear acid, by keeping the cards but getting rid of the RTS type gameplay

    metal gear acid was awesome... i guarantee half of you that said it sucked havent even played it you probably read that it was card turn based and thought oh thats stupid its not how mgs is supposed to be... and as far as im concerned i hope its a mgs game...
    oh yeah and ds sucks the graphics everything sucks 2 lcds and a touchscreen what the hell is that the two screens arent even seemlessly integrated together theres a big ass gap between the two... oh yeah can the ds play movies, view pictures and play mp3's.... thats right... its not overrated to you that say it is

    I really wish that Hideo would bring Metal Gear Solid back to it's roots(PSX Adventure/Action) and make the MGS game that should have been made.
    Please now more of this card based strategy crap. No more 3D crap. I just want MGS mobile as it should have been.

    Please get back to MGS.

    mjfru hes not making MGS games till he dies
    instead hes gonna just write the story and help with voice acting but thats it, instead hes gonna let the ppl who made MGS 2 &3 do the rest of the work after 4 i read it in Game Informer. IT LOOKS SO COOL!!!
    anyways about the PSP i luved MGA and if they make an MGS ill fall head over heels to Best Buy to buy it

    ppl see PSP as being overrated. Actually the PSP is a better gaming handheld than the DS its just that devs have to utilise the hardware correctly and make good games for it

    My money is that it's going to be something in the lines of Boktai, not with a solarcell but some other unique feature that makes it stand out, but I wonder if this is Kojimas game that he have wanted to do for years now? Maybe it is?

    And Kojimas statement om the MGS games is that he is going to be producing them as long as the fans want, he won't have 100% influence on them from directing, checking everything, but he is still the head of the series, so don't worry, when we don't want any more MGS games, we won't see them and Kojima will probably make something else

    oh and by the way MGS4 most likely isn't the last, he said that he was done after both MGS2 and 3 lol, yet he keeps going, he'll keep making them till he dies, he just won't admit it.

    I'm a huge metal gear fan, and i loved AC!D. I don't see what all the hate is about it. It's and interesting strategy game, no it's not MGS on the psp, but it's still an amazing game. You may have hated it, but not everyone hated the game.

    Um... then why is MGS4 in production at the moment? (it'll pwn, by the way) Moreover, if you meant that he'll stop after MGS4, then why did he continue after MGS2 and 3, even though he said he wouldn't? Never say never when it comes to Kojima.

    He said he wouldn't make a real MGS for PSP. The only real Metal Gear for PSP is an electronic comic series.

    I think I read somewhere that the gameboy advance sold more then the rest of the consoles combined but it might have been wrong and that's due to casual gamers
