Kameo lands part in film
Rare's pointy-eared, shape-shifting heroine is jumping from Xbox 360 to animated feature film; Sunmin Park to direct.
The latest female in the gaming world may not have even defeated a single enemy on an Xbox 360 yet, but she's already destined to be a motion-picture star. Microsoft and Santa Monica, California-based Maxmedia signed a deal to bring the world of Kameo: Elements of Power to the big screen.
Sunmin Park will direct the animated feature, which begins production in 2006. Park previously directed the 2004 Sundance Film Festival participant Sky Blue and was a producer of Alejandro Amenabar's The Others.
In the game, a young female elf named Kameo takes on an evil troll king, a daunting task for one individual. Thankfully, Kameo has the power to summon 10 powerful beastly warriors, such as a lava-shooting termite and a fire-breathing dragon.
