Perfect Dark Zero takes another shot at Web
Official online site revamped; visitors get to take an unguided tour of Joanna Dark's digs, poke around to find videos, background story, and more.
With the Xbox 360 launch now less than a month away, gamers can expect the Microsoft promotional machine to be hitting high gear. The buildup to launch continues today with the unveiling of a revamped Perfect Dark Zero official Web site.
Upon arriving at the site, gamers are greeted by Agent Joanna Dark herself, who gives a brief intro and then quickly hightails it, leaving surfers to peruse her online hideout. Perceptive gamers will find 16 quick video clips, character bios, information on the game's weapons and gadgets, and a backstory on Joanna Dark's ongoing beef with the dataDyne corporation.
The game is a prequel to the critically acclaimed Perfect Dark, which appeared on the Nintendo 64 in 2000. The Xbox 360 version features the redheaded agent involved in a story of corruption and espionage in the year 2020. In addition to including a single-player mode, the game will support up to 50 gamers simultaneously through Xbox Live.
Perfect Dark Zero is being developed by Microsoft subsidiary Rare. The UK-based studio developed exclusively for Nintendo before being purchased by Microsoft in 2002. Rare's portfolio includes the classic shooters Perfect Dark and GoldenEye 007 and Conker: Live and Reloaded for the Xbox.
