Apocalypse rising on PSP
Activision ships X-Men Legends II for Sony's portable with four new characters, nine exclusive missions.
The Apocalypse has finally arrived for PSP owners. X-Men Legends II: Rise of Apocalypse arrived on the PC and consoles last month, and Activision today announced that the PSP edition of the game was on its way to stores nationwide.
However, the extra wait might be worth it. The PSP version of the game features four additional playable characters, new environments, nine exclusive missions, and four-player wireless gameplay modes.
Developed by Vicarious Visions (Ultimate Spider-Man on the Game Boy Advance and DS, Tony Hawk's American Sk8land), the PSP version of Rise of Apocalypse features an original storyline featuring classic characters from Marvel Comics' X-Men series teaming up with the band of evil mutants known as the Brotherhood, which includes Juggernaut, Toad, and Magneto. The rival groups join forces to fight the supervillain Apocalypse and his horde of minions, which (naturally) includes four horsemen.
As with the original X-Men Legends, Rise of Apocalypse's gameplay consists of a blend of hack-and-slash-style action and role-playing elements. Players will select members of the Botherhood and X-Men to form a four-man team, which will then go up against more than 100 different kinds of opponents.
X-Men Legends II: Rise of Apocalypse for the PSP is rated T for Teen and retails for $49.99.
