On eve of E3, Eidos acquisition gets blessing of SCi rank and file; SCi also reveals game lineup for next week's trade show in LA.

At its annual shareholders meeting today, Carmageddon-publisher SCi approved the purchase of British publisher Eidos Interactive. The planned purchase comes after months of speculation, competing bids, and bitter words between companies seeking to scoop up the publisher of the Tomb Raider series.

Eidos Interactive had been seeking a savior for almost three years. After numerous companies, including Bono-backed Elevation Partners, tendered bids, SCi eventually emerged on top.

Eidos' shareholders won't be meeting until May 24. At that time, they will officially vote on the acquisition. Howver, 70 percent of them have already given the purchase the thumbs-up.

Also announced by SCi was its E3 lineup, which includes the following games:

Total Overdose (PS2, Xbox, PC)
Conflict: Global Terror (PS2, Xbox, PC)
Battlestations: Midway (PS2, Xbox, PC)
Rogue Trooper (PS2, Xbox, PC)
Roll Call (PS2, Xbox)
