Sony offers white PS2, PSP accessories
A Ceramic White slim PS2 and a PSP car adapter will be hitting stores in Japan.
TOKYO--Sony Computer Entertainment said today it will release a Ceramic White colored version of its current slimmed-version PS2 in Japan. The machine, model SCPH-70000 CW, will be hitting stores on May 26, along with a matching vertical stand.
The Ceramic White version is expected to sell for the same price as the normal Charcoal Black model; the vertical stand will cost 1,575 yen ($15).
This will be the first new color for the new PS2 since it was released on November 3.
Sony released a Ceramic White version of its old PlayStation 2 as a spring special in 2004, but this time around, the color is not a limited-time offer. Consumers can choose between the standard Charcoal Black and the Ceramic White for the foreseeable future.
Sony also announced that it will soon offer an official car power adapter (PSP-180) for its PlayStation Portable. The accessory allows PSP owners to power their PSP through a car's cigarette lighter socket. The adapter was released today at the price of 3,675 yen ($35). Sony also released an official PSP pouch today for 1,575 yen ($15).
