Tokyo Game Show lineup announced
CESA releases a preliminary list of TGS exhibitors and their games for this year's show.
TOKYO--The Computer Entertainment Supplier's Association (CESA) has released a preliminary list of publishers and their games to exhibit at the Tokyo Game Show. The 2004 Tokyo Game Show will take place from September 24 to 26 at Tokyo's Makuhari Messe convention center. The convention will only be open to the press on September 24, with the public getting access on September 25.
The preliminary exhibition list includes 49 game publishers that have registered for the show as of July 23. The list includes 180 games, mostly on the PC and mobile platforms. Only three PSP games are on the current list, but more are expected to be announced as the show approaches and Sony reveals its booth lineup.
The current lineup includes Arduc's C@M-Station for the PlayStation 2, a video chat client that allows users to communicate with each other online. Users can also play games against each other while talking with the video chat.
SNK Playmore hasn't announced its lineup for the TGS yet, but the company plans to exhibit games for the PS2, Xbox, GBA, and other devices. Its exhibit during this TGS will focus on the King of Fighters series, which is celebrating its 10th anniversary with a new game announcement. While no details are known about the game, the company has been hinting on the KOF Web site that it will be a high-resolution remake of King of Fighters '94.
Sega and Sammy's exhibition lineup currently consists of already announced or released titles, but the company will be unveiling its full exhibit roster on September 14, which will include several unannounced games. Gravity, best known for its popular MMORPG Ragnarok Online, will be displaying its new online PC game, Rose Online. The company will also exhibit a number of mobile games based on characters from Ragnarok Online.
