Majesco publishing Psychonauts
Months after Microsoft cast off Double Fine Productions' platformer, it finds a new publisher.
Two years into the game's development, the Psychonauts saga is opening a new chapter. Well-placed industry sources tell GameSpot that Majesco has agreed to publish the eccentric platformer, a fact that was backed up by a video trailer recently screened at the G-Phoria awards, which sported the Majesco logo. No information about a possible release date was available.
Originally Microsoft was to handle distribution of the Xbox-exclusive title, but the company pulled out of its deal with developer Double Fine Productions in late March. Since then, no word has been heard about a publisher for the eccentric platformer, which was created by Grim Fandango mastermind Tim Schafer. Schafer did not respond to calls or e-mails asking for comment for this story.
